NRL Players and family members in hot water

Slightly off topic, but in also sorta serious about this. Does anyone else think it's a bit morally fucked how channel 9 promote Paul Gallen and have him as a commentator? Like bloke has flatout admitted to taking peptides and cheating. Hardly a good role model for kids, and probably someone who shouldn't receive such a kushy job.
Err no. They have Andrew Johns. They have had others. It happened 7 years ago. Perhaps you should look up an engineer, I hear they build bridges.

Think you'll find a large percentage of players have done recreational drugs.

I always hated bridges mate. His career and stature should have ended 7 years ago.
No problems Nashy, as soon as they, the faceless 'they' remove Andrew Johns from the Immortals list I'll support Gallen being removed from all media jobs or roles. I mean, after any offence a reasonable person would think life bans for everything and every avenue for employment be blocked, hey ? Sounds fair for the heinous crime of taking some concoction to reduce recovery times. People have no choice, they either get over it or they carry the resentment that they didn't get their way, with them for life.

I don't agree with Johns being there either. But it doesn't mean I'm ever going to forgive the Sharks for cheating, the Sharks staff for trying to cover it up, or ASADA and the NRL letting them off with nothing.

It's kind if conflating an issue though. It means 'where do you stop with blaming people, clubs and circumstances '? Anyway, it really is ancient history but I agree on one thing, we don't forget. Without getting too far off topic, I never thought (and neither did those in charge) that Cronulla was systematically doping in order to build a team of Ivan Drago's or Russian/Chinese style drug cheats.

I think they were naive and hoodwinked by a bit of pseudo science from Dank to take on a 6 week course of wonder cocktails in order to reduce recovery times. Like I said previously, it was wrong but I'm not as passionate about it as others and I'd feel the same were it any other club.

I accept their excuse, I do. I simply do not accept that the laws of sports doping were bent to accommodate what they call a mistake. Most of the high profile doping charges seem to come from mistakes, and it's never mattered.

The bridges are bigger, and stronger, so, I run with bridges.

And my stupid cousin calls me step-ladder.

The part I never understood about their excuse is that if someone wanted to inject me with something, I would make damn sure I knew exactly what it was. And if Dank lied to them, then shouldn't he be in Jail or sued for every cent he ever earned?

... the staff told the players to not tell anyone about it ...

Yes, there are questions I'd like answered and I'll bet others would too. I think I just need to accept I'll never know the full story.

So? Even with a legitimate edge in business confidentiality is expected and demanded. Who knows, the staff may have genuinely believed it was okay but didn't want other clubs to benefit too. Let's just all move on, this has all been covered before.

You really don't seem like the type of person to settle with just never knowing though

Ha ha. I guess you don't know me then. If I can't change a thing I don't miss a wink of sleep over it. Control the things you can, accept the rest.

It's a nice sentiment but you're looking past information that has been made available and instead deciding to not pay attention to any of it. Everything points at the players knowing something was up and just like you're doing, they didn't ask questions, apparently.
