Big Nelson is sticking to his guns. He won't be allowed at training without being vaccinated in Victoria so I'd expect him to get suspended (without pay) very soon.
 
I think Nelly from Welly should find out how many DOCTORS are refusing to be vaccinated. Nursing staff are famous for thinking they're 'health professionals' .

My wife is a nurse and she doesn't know anyone of her colleagues who that haven't been vaccinated. I get the feeling its either people pretending to be nurses to get their agenda across, or its a very, very small but very vocal minority.

I dont know of a single health proffessional who wouldnt get themselves vaccinated but im sure there must a tiny few.
The fact is if you want to be involved with rest of society you have to subject yourself and your family to some minimum requirements.
Subjecting your children to good health and education, applying a minimum standard of clothing to wear, subjecting yourselves to good hygiene, restaining ftom violence, and now getting the covid vaccine.
On some level these are all for personal wellbeing of those subjected but there is a benefit to society as well.
You can stay at home and not wash, and you can stay and choose not to be vaccinated. If you can find others to find agreeable, so be it. But the moment you take it to the public sphere you impose it on a majority a punitive that they did not choose to consent to.
Thats it in a nutshell.

I think they do twist things to suit their anti vax agenda some of them. They were using the 4000 stood down from QLD health that hadnt been vaccinated to prove their point, but what they dont say is that includes kitchen staff, cleaners, maintenance people, gardeners, receptionists etc as well as people who are registered health care workers.

Absolutely it's a small minority. QLD Health suspended thousands the other day, so there are plenty around. Probably normal for someone like your wife to not be around those people, she's likely smarter and just a better person than they are.

You’re in health care because you either care about the well being of others or you want a stable career usually not touched by global markets

For the first option, you willingly risk the care of others by not vaccinating which is counter to your vocation!! Idiots.

I’m sure they don’t protest when they shove benzodiazepines and morphine into people

Nashy nailed it. They aren't health professionals in the sense that many of them think they are. In the same way a brickie's labourer is not a tradesman, an airline cabin staff member is not a pilot nurses, wonderful people they frequently are, most definitely are not qualified to speak authoritively nor judge on matters concerning health.

I've encountered counter staff in chemists who believe they're health professionals. It's true that like nurses they are on the periphery but are simply not qualified to make truly informed pronouncements concerning health.

This does not mean a well informed person cannot learn enough or acquire sufficient knowledge to make a sound decision on such a thing as vaccination. Of course a nurse can. The real danger is someone in that position becoming convinced they are 'expert' because of their tangential exposure. As is said, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Nurses work in the health industry but are not 'health professionals' IN MY OPINION. This doesn't make them worthless or mean that their opinions are necessarily uninformed.
