Sandor Earl was trafficking in drugs as well as knowingly using ped's . The two offences are not the same as is demonstrated by the differing sentences. And the ARL/NRL had no idea that Joey Johns was popping pills for years.

Yet 95% of league fans knew about it.

I'm not going to comment on the different length of sentences , there's enough people doing that already but I'm fairly sure it is the players' responsibility to know exactly what they are being injected with . The fact the sharks' players didn't know what they were being injected with is a moot point . They should have known . Unless they were lied to ? I haven't followed it that closely .

the anti-doping rules don't say that you can dope as long as you pretend not to know what you are taking.

they flat out state that players are responsible for knowing exactly what they are taking. it is their responsibility.

and even if it is true that they were naive or gullible or what ever else you want to call it (and i for one don't beleive that they were that stupid as to not know they were doing something wrong) it still doesn't mean they get a 95% discount on their penalty for leniency.

stalling the investigation and denying, denying, denying before pleading guilty = 3 week suspension

co-operating the entire time and pleading guilty = 4 year suspension.

None, not one of you knows a fucking thing about what went on yet you're all so strident in your views. What's worse is you are convinced that you and your view is absolutely correct yet cannot for a single moment sit back and consider you may not know all the details and hell, maybe just maybe you could be wrong. That's the difference , you're perfect , your knowledge is complete and your view is the 'right' one. ****, if I didn't know better I'd think you were talking about religion because there are no more certain people than the indoctrinated.

I challenge any one of you to write ' I admit I can't possibly know all the details ' and actually tell the truth instead of spouting half truths based on scant details.

I know one thing.....I don't know all the details and that's a fair admission. I also know that there are some who do and they've investigated it to the hilt. Why the **** you lot cannot understand that those people are much much better informed than you and by extension much better positioned to pass a fair judgement . If Earl received a tough sentence it may be because he deserved it based on offences, actions and deeds that have not seen the light of day.Who knows ? Oh, that's right...the people who investigated it and saw the evidence.

I didn't know. I'm in the 5% apparently. Your post is evidence that you cannot reason capably. You make totally insane claims based on emotion and prejudice. If 95% of league fans knew I ask ,how did they know? Was it published, was there video, public admissions, police charges and court documents ? When did you 'know' ? You see , when you claim to 'know' something you would have evidence and according to you 95% of rugby league fans had evidence. What crap.

I totally agree . It's also a fact that the Sharks players don't and didn't set the penalty. All anger should be directed at those that do. It is entirely possible that those who did set the penalties know more than we do. The Sharks players quite understandably protested their innocence. I have no evidence that they lied or obstructed anyone or body. The facts are that they were investigated by two different groups ( not to forget the many privateers who snooped around, journalists etc )and were found to have unknowingly transgressed. If more evidence was found it would doubtless have surfaced by now.

Once again, it is not the players who set the penalties. Like all other courts, the penalty was set and the sentence served. Like all other courts, that's the end of proceedings. I don't know all the facts in both the Sharks case and earls case and no one here does either. How can a person believe that they can make a truly precise picture without all the facts ?
