NRL Players and family members in hot water

The incidents are the only thing we can base our opinions on though, unless you personally know both Lodge and Fifita and can say both of their characters are as bad as eachother?

Lodge literally told a woman and child that they were going to die that night, therefore showing intent to kill.

Fifita has threatened referee and reporters with violence because he's stupid and over emotional but never showed actual intent to kill as far as I'm aware?

Saying the words "I'm going to kill you" or "your going to die tonight" is not intent to kill. You need means and motive too.

Fifita is a deadshit, there should be no argument of that. He doesn't deserve the privilege of playing in the NRL. But this incident isn't reason enough.

I doubt he put it on his wrist or whatever to draw public attention to it. I suspect he's done it simply for his own benefit and that of his mate. Even he's not dumb enough to advocate that his mate hasn't fucked up. It's not about that.

The only reason it's blown up is, as usual, the media have caught on and turned it in to a shitstorm. Fifita could have done better. He could have still put it on his arm and then strapped over it, so it's there for him only. Or similarly put it somewhere where only he himself will see it, not the cameras. If anyone is to blame for inflaming the situation and causing more grief to the victim's family, it's the media.

I can't agree with that. I mean yes no argument that he is a deadshit, but I can't agree he put it on his wrist without the intention to draw attention to it. That's why players put shit on there wrists and why they point to them after the score a try or the camera is on them for some other reason.

Fifita is a disgrace and has no consideration for anyone but himself and his deadshit mate. I hate the media as much as the next bloke, but blaming them is a copout IMO. They are there to report on what happens. If Fifita isn't wearing a tribute to a scumbag killer with no regard for the victims friends and family, the media wouldn't be able to blow anything up.

I disagree. I don't need to know them personally to make a judgement of character on both of them, based on their known history.

Both THREATENED to hurt people (verbal death threats are highly different to intent to kill), neither of them actually did cause physical harm to a person fortunately.
Besides that, Lodge invaded a home and did that to a woman and child, which makes him a POS not worthy of a sewer, and is in my opinion a worse offense than Fifita's individual ones.
However, Fifita's multiple threats to not only referee and reporter, but actual threats to a person and damage to a vehicle in a road rage incident, shows he is exactly the same type of character: a bully who becomes violent if he doesn't get his way.

There needs to be an investigation. He must have had help from someone else at Cronulla. I don't think Fifita can spell FKL.

So he intends to 'Free Kieran Loveridge' himself?

Is that what it stands for? I take it all back, I thought it was just his initials. Fifita can go get fucked then. There's no justification for that, he should go and rot in a cell that's just close enough for them to hear each other whimper every night.

Dozens of NRL players to be interviewed in police match-fixing investigation

NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg said the NRL would support and provide any assistance requested by the investigation.Greenberg said there was no place in the game for any person found to be involved in match fixing.
"We are not going to pre-judge any person associated with the game while this process is under way," he said.
"But I repeat my earlier warning that if any person is convicted of match fixing they will face a life ban from any involvement in Rugby League."

.... Unless they're star players from a Sydney team...

RTS not being able to make last man tackles?

"Police will work with the NSW Crime Commission, a highly secretive body that has the power to force people to answer questions.

The Crime Commission can forcefully summons a person to participate in an "examination hearing". Refusing to answer questions from the Crime Commission is a criminal offence."

What is this? 1984? The Gestapo? The Spanish Inquisition?

What Greenberg should have said was,

"Any no-name player involved in match-fixing will be made a scapegoat. Any star players will be conveniently unable to be proven and on top of that, any Sharks or Bulldogs players are off limit and if by some nightmare are proven guilty, will be given backdated suspensions so as to miss no games.'

That makes it sound like they are going to torture anyone they question...
