I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.
Hayne used to seem like a good bloke, even for a NSWelshman. These days, he just seems like a jerk who pulls the religion card in a similar way to Goodes and the race card.
Hayne’s manager Wayne Beavis said today the star didn’t realise Bloomfield was a Hells Angels bikie and simply bumped into the alleged standover man at a party.
“I’ve spoken to Jarryd and he said ‘it was just beers with the boys’,” he told the Daily Telegraph today. “The money’s not his, he would ever be walking around with five grand in his pocket.
“He says he doesn’t even know the bloke. They aren’t even mates. He just happened to be there.”
I've got no reason to think it's not legit. He's an jackass, but he doesn't come across as an idiot.
Ok, so he just bumped into this bloke and had know idea that he was a criminal (even though he has previously been warned by the integrity unit about hanging out with criminals) and he was just like "How bloke I don't know, here's $5K, may god be with you"?
Anyone have a leather a jacket I can borrow? I'm heading to Hillsong!
Reports state the $5k wasn't his. Why would I believe otherwise? Why would I believe an NRL player with a bank account would be carrying around $5000 in cash to go for beers?
But Bloomfield's lawyer Adam McGill has told the ABC Bloomfield was a former professional rugby league player and had become friends with Hayne through football.
He said the pair were just catching up and had not seen each other for a long time because Hayne had been playing overseas.
'It's very, very innocent'
Mr McGill said the money in the video did not show anything illegal being carried out.
"That's just the boys being the boys and a bit of tomfoolery," Mr McGill said.
"I think it was a bit of showboating on Chris's behalf, but there was certainly nothing illegal or sinister in relation to the money, they were just showboating.
"At that stage they had all been drinking and like a lot of Australian males they tend to put on a bit of a show."Obviously it was Jarryd's money, Chris got it and he was just making light-hearted comments in relation to 'this is what he gave me'."He never gave him the money, he just gave it straight back to him."
Mr McGill said it was only an issue because Bloomfield was a member of an outlaw club.
Maybe he wasn't going for beers but was more into rum and coke?
Maybe he wasn't going for beers but was more into rum and coke?
That's a big accusation, prepared to back it up?
...Mad Monday was coming up and who doesn't like a little rum and coke on Mad Monday....
