NRL Players and family members in hot water

Graham Langlands has been charged with child sex offences.
FMD the game keeps getting kicked in the guts

It was a matter of time till something like this would come up, this is going to get ugly.

I think we need to start reporting on people who aren't being charged for child sex. Be a shorter list.

I guess St. George didn't win 11 premierships with just one raper

Lockyer knew all along.

This is probably just the beginning. Watch multiple players (current and ex) get revealed soon.

Nothing about that story makes sense. Why would you give $500 to a guy you just met, why would you keep giving him money, why was a first grade NRL player living in a Salvo house?

Gambling.

jumper-fan-scam

Paul Carter is in strife again, with a fan alledging the former NRL bad boy scammed him out of more than $5000.
Luke Phillips is a father of four children - three of whom have autism - and lives on a teacher's aide's salary in Trangi in western NSW.
An avid collector of football jumpers, Phillips told Wide World of Sports he paid Carter thousands of dollars for jumpers that the former Titan, Rooster and Rabbitoh was selling on ebay.
Remarkably, Carter confessed to Phillips about the scam after the jumpers did not arrive, explaining he was going through tough times.
Phillips took pity on the former utility forward and went on to lend him over $2000 - money he knows he will now never see again.
Carter was cut by the Roosters after drugs charges were laid against him by NSW Police midway through last season.

Last month, he failed to appear in court for sentencing relating to the supply of cocaine.
His legal counsel claimed that Carter was overseas in a rehabilitation centre.
"I feel like such a fool - he scammed me," Phillips says.
"I know I will never see my money again but I just want to get the story out there so no one else will fall for his lies.
"I collect jumpers for my kids - they love looking at the colours and logos and Carter had some for sale on ebay.
"I even went to his flat in Waterloo to get one and he seemed a decent guy.

"But then I bought a few more he was selling off ebay and they never arrived.
"I realised something was wrong when I paid $1200 for his winning Auckland Nines jumper and then saw a third party selling the same jumper on ebay.
"I contacted the third party and he told me Carter gave him strict instructions to sell it to anyone - except me.
"Carter knew I had already paid $1200 for it and so tried to keep me at arm’s length.
"I contacted him and he admitted to me that he was struggling to pay his bills.
"I felt genuinely sorry for him and told him I would lend him some money - I took out a $2000 loan and gave it to him.
"I paid his power bill and even some meals for him and his missus through Uber Eats.

"Next thing I knew, he was cut by the Roosters and I knew my chances of seeing the money again were gone."
Phillips contacted the Roosters, the NRL and Carter’s manager.
All said they could do nothing to help him.
He even contacted the NSW Police - but they said there was little they could do either.
"I know another guy he scammed $2000 off but he was still at the Roosters then and the club reimbursed him.
"By the time I realised what was happening, he was without a club and everyone has washed their hands of him.

"I thought he was a decent bloke but he fooled me completely and I fell for it."
Wide World of Sports attempted to contact Carter for comment but he did not reply.
FOOTNOTE
While Carter has left Phillips devastated, other players have showered the teacher’s aide with kindness.
"I contacted (Penrith’s) Bryce Cartwright on Instagram and asked if I could buy some of his training and playing gear," Phillips said.
"He came back to me and said 'I don’t want your money' and he sent me a bunch of gear for nothing, which was great.
"A few other blokes like Josh Papalii, Luke Keary Wade Graham and Ken Sio have sent training gear and boots and that has restored my faith in human nature."

Carter is a scumbag but I got to say the father really should have had better judgement with his money, especially supporting 3 children with autism. Even more so after he found out he had been scammed.

Yep. Even with his reasons for buying the stuff, why would you go through a dropkick like Carter? And pay beforehand? So dumb.

Seriously, if you hand over cash in those circumstances, you 100% deserve it.

Why does his kids autism come into this? He was already wasting the money in shit jerseys anyway.

How often are football players scamming people FFS. This is crazy.
