Hastings reportedly dropped for Cogger

Rumor is when Hastings was told, he got offered to train with the NSW Cup side and said nope and went home.

To be honest, I think they dropped the wrong half. I would be dropping Gamble.

Dean Hawkins is an interesting one.

From what I've heard from people involved in the Rabbitohs club, he's the one that Reyno was mentoring when he was still at Souths. He's the one that a lot of Souths fans earmarked as their future halfback.

From what I've seen of him, there's a good player in there. But time will tell whether he can take his NSW Cup form and do the same in the NRL.

He's 25. His path has been blocked by Reyno and Ilias, you would think this is his only chance to show why he should be the 7 over Ilias.

Yeah strange to drop Ilias this early unless they were pretty confident in Hawkins. Still think they should have waited a few more weeks with Wighton and Host coming back. Fixes up there edges and gets Murray back through the middle. In saying that Ilias has no confidence left and has played shithouse for 2 coming into his 3rd season. Doing the same thing over and over again isn’t going to click. He needs to go back to cup and regain form, confidence and experience, he needs a change of coach/style/direction or he needs a change of environment. I think we might see Ilias get a look at all 3 of those outcomes before he comes good personally.

Ilias will be a Deariedoodle, calling it now. He's a talented kid thrown to the wolves way too early without the coaching nous or senior players around him to help him thrive. I expect him to come good, but it will be at another club. I really feel for the kid, he is not Souths' problem, to treat him the way they have the past couple of years seems very poor.

souths kept the wrong player should have kept arey and had illias playing 6 with him for a couple years with only having to worry about making his tackles and taking the line on and learnt from reynolds but we will benefit mam getting a masterclass for areys time at brisbane and post retirement.

add to that they have a good prospect in the halves coming through too could have been your 6 and 7 sorted for years

Broncbros to get up tomorrow night in the big revenge match and expunge the memory of the buggests choke in history (except ours last week).

Queenslandwah!

True but is NAS injured? I think he just isn't making the Storm side at the moment but I could be wrong.

Has an ankle injury that has interrupted his pre-season, is expected to make his way through the reserves over the coming weeks till the Round 5 clash against the Broncos.

Of course it would be round x against us

IT'S NOT A REMATCH!

I wish people would stop saying that. For some reason it annoys me too much.

It's literally a rematch from their last game!
I love the broncs but I give them the same chance we would have without SJ and Addin, zero to none.
