NRL Season Recommencing

Storm denied access to train at Albury Thunder home ground because JAC flouted social distancing laws :rofl

depends on who you ask

one of the Councillors said it was because of too many instances of failing social distancing ... although unless they ban them entirely from even staying in Albury, i'm not sure using council facilities will have any effect on their community.

another counciler who voted for the ban said it was because the double standard would be unfair on the rest of the community who can't use these facilities.

vote wasn't a landslide either ... it was 5-4

Maybe addo Carr wants to be sacked.
And watch him end up at Souths.

ScMo has said that any player who doesn't get the flu shot should not be permitted to play this season ... Mal Meninga doesn't have a problem with this rule, lol

Yes. Having the flu further reduces your immune system and makes a person more prone to COVID-19 and more detrimental effects whilst risking impact to all of those around them.
To add further to that, the flu also has a lot of s i molar symptoms to covid19 meaning if this idiot got the flu and them trained with his entire team or played a game against opposition every single person would need to be in isolation until they got the test results. If he presented on a game day it could also that game gets postponed costing 1000s of $$$.
The flu vaccination isn't a guarantee you won't get the flu as there are numerous strains of it and it can't protect 100% against them all, but it certainly decreases the risk.
Let this **** wit and his wife have a chat to a polio survivor who wears a leg brace and nearly died, or talk to a mother from a 3rd world country who lost their child to one of the vaccination diseases, and see if they can look them in the fucking eyes.
This wife's logic is like the Simpson's episode where Lisa said to homer "this rock protects me from getting attacked by bears" "That can't be true!" "Well, have yo uh ever seen me attacked by a bear?".. lock them all in a small room with the infectious diseases and let community services take their children

Thanks for the answers, boys. Makes perfect sense. I just couldn’t quite wrap my head around it

FTR I’m definitely not anti-vax, just wasn’t sure the exact logic of it.

What would happen in the future though... say that a vaccine is developed for covid 19 and these anti-vaxx morons are proposing not to get it.

I would say in that instance they should be barred from playing, but I wonder how it would run in wider society (ie. anti-vaxxers not wanting to get an otherwise healthy vaccine)??

Does it start getting classed as discrimination because these guys get their medical advice from Instagram posts... or can they rightly be refused employment, services, etc. on the basis of public health??

For the purposes of my question please assume the vaccine has been heavily tested before being introduced to the public... rather than a conspiracy to inject mind control drugs or whatever else the yanks are building up in the psyche.

This vaccination issue is going to be a potential problem. Josh Papalii, Sia Soliola and Joseph Tapine have all refused to sign an unmodified waiver and didn’t train today according to the SMH.

They can just claim it’s for religious purposes and the nrl won’t sit them.

I'm not convinced that's going to wash with the Government tbh when you look at their statements. The Morrison government seem to want the NRL to adopt the approach of no jab, no play. They could quite easily pull the plug on the NRL's plans if they chose to do so.

For the record, i have no issue with any player ( or person for that matter ) using their freedom of choice to decide not get vaccinated. They do need to realise though freedom of choice doesn't entitle them be have no consequence for the decision they make. If we do go down the road of no jab, no play ( which could happen ) they dont get to play, and if they choose not to participate, their earnings may be in jeopardy.

Would there be anything in the CBA that the players just agreed to in regards to not complying with the revised playing conditions??

Given how strict the COVID requirements are and how delicate things may be politically... you'd think the NRL need buy in from all the players to comply with all the new requirements
