I think that tweet is a little misleading if he's paraphrasing the presser from just now.

The CMO said 3 players have been stood down, until this is resolved. She may have even indicated that it was NRL who stood them down rather than the QLD govt demanding it, as was implied by the tweet.

Also indicated that she was very impressed there were only 3 players across the 3 teams (players and staff) that hadn't been vaccinated and that NRL would issue an amended plan to deal with these players.

Also indicated there was going to be no issue with the competition restarting.

Cant blame the bloke for wanting to get paid. This is a government directive not an nrl one. These anti vaxxers can go to court but good luck getting a win over the government at the moment with the covid firmly in everyone’s minds. The top health officials will ream them in court. They don’t have to let them recommence so early either but are doing so under strict conditions. This is just one of them.

If people don't want to get a flu shot, that's fine, but good on the NRL for making sure they aren't allowed to play. Some players may complain about it, but the NRL needs to do all it can to survive right now. You just know that that the Mole is sitting behind fences waiting for just one player to cough or sneeze.

I don’t blame him for wanting to get paid, I blame him for being an anti-vaxxer in the first place and then being as staunch in his beliefs as a wet tissue.
