NRL Season Recommencing

I’m pretty sure Dylan Walker, Fonua-Blake and some other Manly player are refusing too?

Or were they just refusing to sign the new waiver?

Wasn't AFB one of the players early in the year claiming that he's wearing a mask (to and during training) to protect his family, etc. because he's worried about catching COVID... but now he's happy to not take a vaccine, thereby running the risk of catching the flu and COVID at the same time 🤔🤔🤔

I'd love to know what goes on in these guys heads that allow them to come to these conclusions.

the CM have reported that along with going back to 1 ref, there will be a change to what happens with ruck infringements.

the refs will be instructed to re-start the tackle count instead of awarding a penalty

What a farce. Teams winning by 1 or 2 or even by a converted try but on their own line with little time to go will just keep offending to waste time.

because a penalty would give them 2 points, a tackle restart won't?

We're talking at the end of the game though aren't we? Refs rarely give penalties in that position.

Yeah, I guess if it's a tiny lead, it makes it a bit complicated.

i get why flu shot blanket requirement is needed...i still get it every year, for last 4 years...had the 4 worst flues in my life each year since getting the jab, just got it yesterday for this year, wish me luck lol

They probably can’t force them but if their actions threaten the health and safety of other players, I’m pretty sure they can stop them from playing.
I have never been more ill than the last time I got a flu shot. Never again.

Oh didn’t see this before I posted.

Its almost like injecting yourself with a disease is more likely to make you sick.

I’m not anti-vax - my son who was born 4 months premature was vaccinated the day he was born for a number of things and is up to date since - I just don’t understand the logic of a flu shot nor the knee jerk reaction to people calling for a blanket acceptance that you need to have one or you can’t do your job. It’s fucked.

Flu shots dont contain an active virus. Its not possible to catch the flu from a flu shot. What generally happens is you either get some flu like symptoms as a side effect, not the flu itself, or while your body is developing the immunity to the flu virus from the antibodies, its possible to actually catch the flu in a two week period as your bodies immunity is down a little.

Also, the flu shot only covers so many strains, its possible to catch a different one that wasn't covered by the vaccine.

I'm also willing to bet that 90% of people who claim they had "the flu" actually just has a bad cold.

Correct. There are literally thousands of viruses that cause a similar type of illness; cough/cold/sneezing/muscle aches. The flu jab protects against usually 3-4 of them. From what I understand, clever people analyse data from the Northern Hemisphere's flu season and try to predict which 4 are the most worth covering with the vaccine. Some years they do a better job than others. It doesn't protect you from every possible cold, it does protect you against 4 of the nastier ones that are likely to be the most common.

I just read Martin tapau was one of the players refusing the flu jab (he has since miraculously changed his mind). Has he given a reason? Because if love to hear it considering he was really involved in helping with the measles outbreak in samoa. I mean, ffs... these ***** are thick but SURELY SURELY SURELY there's a reason after seeing such a obvious cause and effect scenario...
