NRL Season Recommencing

Never been prouder of our government. The Titans must be doing cartwheels if this means they can cut and run from Bryce Cartwright. What a complete waste of space that clown is.

I'm actually quite surprised that this QLD government weren't their usual weak selves ... i was fully expecting them to perform their usual backflip

a couple of other things of note from the article:

it is expected that the Titans will stop paying both Cartwright and Kelly.

it has been reported that the Titans will consider ripping up Cartwright's 600k a season deal on the grounds that his exile from training/playing in on the basis of his personal beliefs

The Titans have arranged for Kelly to be spoken to by health experts (including Indigenous specialists) in order to help him understand these vacinations

Meninga seems to be hinting that the Titans should get compensation for their players been banned from playing and training, here is what he has said:

there are only two players in the comp that have been stood down ... although the others who have not received the flu shot will not be able to enter QLD to play matches up here

I'm waiting for the weak NRL to either not play in QLD or schedule games for the players that wont sign up for the flu shot in NSW

I bet they both cave

Absolutely.

I guess now we'll see how strong their convictions are. Is not getting a flu jab really worth losing hundreds of thousands of dollars?
Yeah well maybe to some who worry about the risk of side effects or reactions like Nathan Peates genuinely was, his life might matter more

From the reports, it sounds like what the NRL plan to do is force the QLD clubs to play their home games away if they come up against a team with players refusing to get the flu shot.

which would be the stupid (i.e the NRL) way to do things.

surely since there are reportedly only 3 clubs affected (4 if you include the Titans) the NRL could write the draw in such a way, that when the Broncos or Cowboys are scheduled to face one of those 3 teams, it will be scheduled to be an away game. that way the Broncos or Cowboys don't have to get penalised by losing a scheduled home game due to circumstances that aren't their fault ... i mean that would be the fair way to do things, which means the NRL have probably already taken this off the table

Why would they choose the option that doesn't **** over us and the Cowboys lol

So is it solely up the ref to decide if a ruck infringement is 6 again or a penalty?

I wonder if it was Jai Arrow refusing the flu shot if they'd force him to?

I would hope if you've had an adverse reaction to the flu shot previously you would not have to have one.

Of course they would..

Nope. That's the reason Nathan Peats didn't want to have a flu shot, had a bad reaction to one back when he was at Souths. They still made him get one.

That's really Nathan's decision as he wanted to get back into training ... If he had held off until the QLD government had made a decision, he could have gotten away with just a waiver as there was a medical reason for his refusal

I suspect Nathan's Peats' 'bad reaction' is not actually what is medically a bad reaction. Any patient having the influenza vaccination must sign a consent form. Patients who develop 'bad reactions' or issues such as anaphylaxis to the vaccine, Guillian Barre Syndrome post vaccine (few other scenarios as well) are exempt from vaccination given the risk of these reactions.

Given peats appears to be consenting to vaccine now, it makes me think he only had a mild reaction in the past. Who knows though, difficult to known the actual circumstances of his prior reaction though.

Fox reporting the first two rounds of the new season will be announced tomorrow.
Here's hoping it's a continuation of the original comp.
That gives us Titans followed by Panthers. With Nathan Cleary out, we should be 4-0 to start the season.

Instead they'll **** us and make us play Canberra at home, which will be moved to Canberra because of their moron anti-vaxxers... and then Melbourne, because why the **** not.

Meanwhile Cows will get Titans and Warriors to ease them back into the season
