NRL Season Recommencing

Never been a huge fan of Bellamy, but I applaud him here.

Some players (including one of his own) have proved they can’t be trusted, so he has removed the temptation.

A blanket rule also means no one can claim they’ve been treated differently. One size fits all.

Didn't I read somewhere the NRL agreed to pay the players until the end of May?
Wouldn't that make them contractually obligated to attend training when scheduled?

I can understand their logic in it's simplest form, but in reality it's ridiculous. Most of them are paid more than a fair chunk of the population, a lot of whom have lost hours or lost their job entirely. It's ridiculously short-sighted and bordering on pure greed.

There are doctors and nurses working right now saving lives that earn less than these muppets.

I despise Cameron Smith with my heart and soul.

However the NRL is run by a bunch of self-seeking muppets, I would not begrudge him at all making sure that they aren't going to be taken advantage of. Would you really trust the NRL with your health and livelihood? I wouldn't.

You wouldn't trust most of the NRL to run your local Oztag comp.

Spot on, Bellamy showing why he and Melbourne are amongst the best in the business.

Anastasia has approved the recommencement of the season. Step 1.

yep Palachook has completed her latest back flip ... probably because she remembered about the election a week after the GF.

she really needs to stop using the phrase "let me be clear" because more often than not she'll use that phrase right before changing her position.

Just down to Border Force to give the Warriors the green light.

I am a critic of the nrl and dont like where it is at or where it is heading but I have to laugh at all the dwindling criticism of the NRL about the re-start. The NRL, a very public company with 1000's of employees planned ahead with a clear date and jumped every hurdle TO THE LETTER. They booked a date 2 months ahead and stated it was dependent upon the scenario continuing to improve. It is the professionalism that the NRL normally lacks that it is now getting criticised for.
I'll say it now, if it was the afl, it would be getting praised by all for its forward thinking and best case scenario planning.
A person at work criticised the NRL for it and I laughed and re-butted every single reason he said we all should be so offended... after i pointed out all of the above and he said acknowledged it, his reasoning everyone should be offended was because the NRL had the audacity to plan it while we were in the middle of a pandemic.hes a soccer fan, I asked him if he knew the German and Italian soccer leagues, the afl, and numerous american leagues were looking to restart? Funnily enough, the criticism stopped...

All good points but the negativity...doesn't that come back to the bogans in the media that report on this sport being, well as unprofessional as the NRL administration itself?

I agree with your points and kudos to the NRL but idiocy is not just in that organisation, it is in their media reps as well.

Has there been any negativity coming from the media about the NRL return though?

Channel 9 said they hadn’t been spoken with and Greenburg denied that. Some players saying they don’t want to move, reports in government not being contacted even though they had, etc.

Yep they've done a surprisingly good job, hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

The Victorian Government screwed Melbourne lol

Now watch the bigger AFL squads be given a red carpet return

I don't mind if it ruin the storms preparation. I hope cameron "it's not about the money" Smith, and the organisation that cheated the game and brought the wrestle have an epiphany regarding their popularity in melbourne being tiny due to spending the vast majority of their energy and money on development in qld because it benefits them winning rather then actually GROWING THE GAME IN VICTORIA. **** them...

Awaiting 1910's response from easts leagues club headquarters....
