NRLW NRLW Brisbane Broncos Discussion

One of our departures in Montaya Hudson has signed for the Dragons for two years.

Curious to see what her role is with Berry at fullback, guessing just to be cover but more likely to get a game I suppose. Hope she does well

Robbo had another great try. Could be enough for the Golden Boot when put with the other one along with everything else she does

Possibly off topic but the difference in product between the NRLW and the AFLW is absolutely nuts. They're so far behind it's crazy.

They expanded way too quickly. They started with 8 teams in 2017, added 2 more in 2019, added 4 more the following year but they didn’t play the season (Covid) and then added 4 more in 2022 to complete the league. (And they’ll be adding Tasmania in 2027 lol)

Meanwhile NRLW is still only at 12/17 teams after the same 8 seasons.

The skill level between the best and worst is huge, and because the game is pretty scrappy at the best of times, it can be really poor watching if they both suck.

I only watch the Lions, and even they have their moments where they just can’t get the fundamentals right, which Starce has openly admitted.

I thought last season was meant to be the last at Totally Workwear Stadium?

Only three games there at TWW.

Are there any other options though? I think the capacity is perfect. Good location for me too lol.

Still kinda annoying to get to if you aren’t driving. Train and bus, or an uber

The team love playing there, and until they start selling it out and people are being shut out, they’ll keep playing there I think.

It used to be better with all the players out on the field after the game with the fans, but now it’s just the lame cordoned off semi-circle in front of the bench. I get the reasons why, but it feels like the players are forced now and there’s limited chance to find specific players.

It's a nightmare getting there from the Moreton Bay Region at the times they play.

So we finally find out why Joseph is going back to Sydney.

She's going back because her fiance lives in Penrith.

Don’t really care for her reason. What bothered me the most is it was announced literally the day after the Grand Final win.

Now whether that was Parra being dicks, or her and her manager just not giving a shit, it pissed me off.

Particularly as there was no rumour or news of it happening - something like Kobe going to Manly.

Instead of looking at it fondly as a thanks and farewell, it comes across as walking out the second she got a ring.

Hate that the Golden Boot goes to the best International player. Should count the regular season.

But shouldn’t the best player in the respective league be representing their country and still be elite?

Proof is in someone like Cleary not winning it yet - he sucks at rep level, so he shouldn’t be winning a IRL award for the best player

Not saying Grant should’ve won though, to be clear

Lauren extends until the end of 2027 season

Another re-signing. Reegan Hicks til the end of 27
