Off-Season

Capewell:

“It’s been awesome, we’ve got an awesome group of blokes and everyone is so hungry and working so hard at the moment. There’s not too much that needed to change, everyone is so hungry and eager to work. It’s just leadership around the park and that’s what Adam’s here for. He has a great kicking game too which helps."

“These young boys are working so hard and putting in so much effort. You’ll really see the benefit of that. With a bit of leadership in the team, it helps point us in the right direction."

“All the effort and ability is there. It’s a matter of channelling it the right way and I think you’ll see that come round one.”

“I’m pretty old in this squad. I do enjoy the leadership role. I feel like I’ve got a lot to give there after being at a couple of great clubs with some awesome players that were able to teach me a lot. There is definitely something I can provide there and they are definitely listening. Their commitment to the pre-season this year and how hungry they are and eager to be better is awesome. I definitely think you’ll see a difference.”

in case anyone was wondering, Cobbo is 18th man for the Indigenous All-Stars

All stars has extended bench though right?

I'm not sure ... I was reading the other day that they're giving this fixture "rep" status, rather than treating it like a glorified trial, which is why Latrell can't play in it, but he can play in Souths trials ... so maybe it will only be the 17

Keenan Palasia:

“I turned 25 last month and I feel 45 some days. I’ve had three knee surgeries and MCL, PCL, ankle and hand injuries, all before I was 24. I did think about giving it away after I did my knee for a third time in 2019, but I couldn’t bring myself to stop playing, so I gave myself no choice but to play on."

“I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t hard and that I thought, ‘Maybe I won’t make it to the NRL’. It was pretty tough going through my knee recos, but it taught me that I have a good support base behind me, especially at a club like the Broncos where they have the facilities to help me get back to where I was before I got injured.”

“Anyone who says they don’t want to start for their club would be lying. I have spoken to ‘Kevvie’ and every session he is pushing me to challenge for that starting spot alongside Payne and Patty. With the team we have here, I think I can come off the bench and fill in around the middle (front row) or the edge (second row), but personally I like playing in the middle. I did some extra rehab on my shoulder in the off-season just to make sure I was ready for the pre-season. I have done some contact leading into this game so I’m good to go.”

“Ezra and Brendan Piakura are the two special guys here. Brendan is still only 19 and Ezra is going to debut soon ... he is a freak of a talent.”

Could be right.
Sorry, I went back and edited my post because I didnt express my point very well.

But yeah, to me is reads like he wants to start in the middle at prop with Haas and Patty and that the second prop spot is still potentially up for grabs.

You are still probably right!

Interesting he said a starting spot alongside Payne and Patty. Maybe thats our starting props?
Was thinking that... but then was thinking maybe he's just talking about a starting middle with 2/3 spots already filled
