Nice work, Brad.
I'm over Milford. Too high maintenance.

Agreed. This whole circus is ridiculous. As many people have said if this was about his family and he wanted to be in brisbane this would already have been resolved. This is all about how much money he can get so IMO he can stay in Canberra

Thanks Bushman

It's great when people post a bit of "actual" info.

It kind of sounds like Furner knows he doesn't want to play for Canberra. "It's disappointing because we put so much time into developing him". Sounds to me like Furner has been told he wants to leave.

Well looks like things are going to get interesting. Couldn't happen to a nicer club.

welcome, anthony. the broncos club will turn you into a fine young man, and hopefully griffo wont stifle your footy talents

Did not realize he was Molo's cousin
Canberra playing hardball for a payout which is fair enough

Let's see how tough Furner is now with his stance of not letting Milford play NRL in 2014 if he doesn't return to Canberra ??

Hopefully sanity will prevail.

I'd be exploring this clause further before any payout was forthcoming. We have lawyers in Brisbane don't we?

How exactly besides what they are currently doing, pushing for junior development allowances, spending a **** load on development, growing a large financial port folio with investments throughout ACT, NSW and Qld to keep them financially strong, taking a game to Hong Kong.

Canberra isn't a desirable place for youngens with money and eyes for the bright lights of city life, no TV games makes growing a fan base and sponsorship a nightmare.

If it was the AFL the Raiders would be getting extra allowances, the NRL just doesn't care as long as they keep producing juniors and keep their mouths shut

They would all be things every club does- why do the Raiders need to be rewarded for doing it? ACT isn't a League outpost they're a strong League area, they're not the Russian Front you like to pretend they're.

Lions don't get any allowances from the AFL- so you're wrong there.

Finally got a reply from the NRL about the round 13 thing

Brad,

Thanks for your email.

The Round 13 Rule is actually covered under the NRL Playing Contract and Remuneration Rules and isn't a clause that has to be added into a player's contract conditions to be effective. When an NRL Playing Contract is signed, the parties are agreeing to be bound by the NRL Rules so by doing that are accepting that they will be bound by the requirements of that Rule.

It is a Rule that is applied by the Salary Cap Auditor when determining whether to register a contract.

If the incumbent Club give written permission, then the contract can be registered by the Salary Cap Auditor prior to Round 13.

I hope this assists with your query. Thanks for your support of the game.

Kind regards
Rachel

You were saying?

Exactly what I said- doesn't have to be there and doesn't have to be applied. You could save yourself time by listening.

Its exactly like I said mate it's automatic it's part of the NRL rules, you can admit you're wrong occasionally mate, it's actually a good character trait.

Or is it like other times where you've called me out for being wrong and then a few posts later actually appear to agree with me?
