Its exactly like I said mate it's automatic it's part of the NRL rules, you can admit you're wrong occasionally mate, it's actually a good character trait

You obviously didn't read the part where he said it can be avoided and contracts registered prior to round 13 and the clause isn't in every contract. As I said managers don't include it and it can be gotten around.

So basically you agreed 100% with what I was saying, you mentioned managers had it added or removed as a clause and it wasn't a general NRL rule, appears the only way it can be negated is if the existing club lets it, grow up dude/dudette

Back on Milford, It's a fair bet the offer from the Broncos has been increased will be interesting to see if te Raider up the ante with a higher offer themselves.

If he's saying he's not going back it's not about the offer. In any case we are in brisbane, we have plenty of cap space and no five eight...we win

Saying not going back hardly means its not about the offer and I guess could compare it to Hoffman, no direct quotes yet.

As I've said all along mate I believe he'll be yours but offering him more would drive up your price as well so it would be a smart thing to do.

It is the smart thing to do... Which is why the raiders probably won't do it. Don will most likely just fill up the preseason with whinging and nonsensical rants

I don't think it is about the money Bushie as I also don't think it is about his fathers deteriating health. He may be concerned about his fathers health.
I think he is one of those kids that genuinely cannot overcome the homesickness. It happens to all clubs at some stage and Milford has had a history of it.
The fact that he is a potential superstar is making it hard for the Raiders and their supporters to let go.
I would much prefer we had developed him ourselves but we cannot knock back a kid with this much potential.

I think if he goes back to the Raiders for next year it will be short lived and the Raiders would be better to move on now and concentrate on Cornish

As much as you'd like for this to be about money, so as to keep the moral high ground, all indications are that this really is about Milford being homesick and wanting to be with his family, even if his father is doing better than expected.

Don't worry mate, you, Don stupid, and the people at the GH should just take it on the chin and accept it. We promise we will take good care of Anthony!

I'm over Milford. Too high maintenance.

Seriously, it's turning into a sideshow. Whoever is doing the PR for this (I'm guessing his Manager), is doing a shitty job. Make him look like he wants to play footy and not someone who can't make up his mind and going after more money.

The Milford saga is a bad smell that never goes away. If I was Canberra I would let him come up to the Broncos if that's what makes him happy no club should force a youngster or any player to sit out a season, that's a players choice only.

Where and when has it looked like he wants to make more money?

All we know is that he asked for a release from his contract based on a clause that was put in there precisely for the purpose, but Canberra are playing hardball and trying everything they can to retain him, and totally ignoring the spirit of the clause which allowed them to retain him in the first place!
If anything, the latest news seems to indicate he will not go back to the Raiders no matter what, which hardly rhymes with a money hungry grab...

That depends on what the Broncs have offered him. I don't believe for a second believe they haven't spoken to Ayoub and Milford as yet.

We didn't get rid of all our halves bar Ben Hunt this year to make room for no-one...

I really want Milford at the Broncos. Even if he doesn't work out in the halves, I think 1. Milford 3/4. Barba could possibly work too. It's worth a risk for one of the most talented players to come through in years.

Of course they probably talked to him. He wants to go home and it would be dumb not to talk to the Broncos and inquire about their interest if he became available. Means nothing more than that really...

I can see Canberra demanding the same treatment as the Dogs, with Milford staying on the same coin for 2014 and renegotiating his contract from 2015 onwards, and this tantrum by Furner is just to get some cash compensation...
