how wasnt he? Dally M winner who was the toast of the league, who every team would've loved to have. His 2013 wasn't bad, and we've all seen how good he can be. He was at the time a genuine superstar of the league. Much bigger signing than everyone on that list apart from possibly Folau, Prince and Milford.

I'm not talking about how he went after he signed, I'm talking about the matter signing him and how big of a signing it was. We'll never know how it could've turned out now, as Daddy had to bring baby home.

He was not the toast of the league when we signed him, he had been given time off from the Bulldogs to get over personal issues including breaching the bulldogs code of conduct.He also suffered his first major injury in which he never fully seemed to recover his greatest asset, his speed. Not every team would have loved to have had him, you think Storm would have swapped him for Slater, Eels for Hayne or Souths for Inglis?

If you honestly believe that Barba was a better signing that someone like Glenn Lazarus or Tallis for the Broncos we are worlds apart and not worth derailing this thread on the discussion.

Its easier to just hate Henjak for it. he opened the door for Crowe and he just walked right in took Inglis and left, with a big smile on his face.

In my opinion,the greatest signing we ever had was Glen Lazarus. The greatest development was Darren Lockyer. Ben Barba, for all his potential was just a good signing that never worked out. I too wished Barba was a success and I was exited about his arrival but for many reasons it didn't end well. I hope he shows he is a decent person by not denigrating the Broncos while he plys his trade in Sydney. In fact I hope he absolutely kills it for my second favourite team.

The Broncos were never a team who imported a lot of talent, we were always developers although that has changed over the last decade. Of the established players we have bought, Ben Barba does not rank highly if success is the measure. He may have had more potential than many but that counts for little in the grand scheme of things.

We've signed a lot of good players over the years, but Folau and Milford are the only other two who I think would have the excitement factor that Barba had. Oh well, he didn't live up to it, let's hope Milford does.

On Boyd himself, after reading some of the things he's said I've actually been quite impressed. Wouldn't surprise me if he had actually becomes a better player as a result of it too. Given he's signed anyway, let's hope so. And that WB is flexible about where to play him.

I figured once Barba had officially signed with someone else that it'd be announced the same day or the next day at the very latest.

This. I wasn't overly keen on signing him, purely because I felt it was unnecessary. However, he is coming and I'll support him 100%. I will happily go out on a limb and say he will be one of our better players next year. The guy's back in Brisbane, close to the only biological family he has ever known and has seemingly dealt with a pile of his demons. Last year was obviously rock bottom so the only way is up.

I remember reading an article a little while ago where Hodges was speaking about him. Sorry for being vague but long story short, he broke down in Origin camp and Hodges had genuine concerns about the guys mental stability.

Maybe holding off for a press conference of some sort. Maybe they'll get Vlad or Obama to present him with his jersey!!!!

In what way are the two events related ? Barba signing with someone else and us signing a new player , why would one follow the other and why would there be a time consideration ?
