Added to OP: there are also 3 internationals being played on Saturday June 25. That's a week away from our Cowboys match, so we shouldn't be affected - unless there are suspensions or injuries.

New Zealand vs Tonga should be a belter of a game, looking forward to that. (No idea why it's the first game and not the 7:50pm show piece)

So here's a thought: maybe Coates will play for PNG and Oates will take his QLD position in Origin 2.

Selwyn and Patty talking to the media
Selwyn's such a kid still you can't not love him

With Selwyn getting more and more media attention, someone at the club really needs to give him some media training.

He's like a virgin on his first date. You can see just how nervous the poor kid is.

Yeah I heard a interview at the start of the season and someone was saying he doesn't even talk at training all he'd say was "Cobbos ball" when catching kicks, he's probably got abit more out of his shell now.
But the club needs to look after him with all the spotlight on him, I haven't seen a young Broncos player or even young guys from other clubs get as much media attention as he's had.
Every chance for a interview they grab Selwyn.

Stoked as for him though first Qld team he's ever made.

Yes, he's really having his moment. In honesty, he's probably been a picked a game or two too soon, but he's the feel good story of the series. It's great TV, it sells newspapers and it will put bums on seats.

It's funny, the first time I saw him was in that trial match where he played one half for Wynnum and the other for Brisbane. He didn't have a bad game but Reece Walsh completely stole the show. Fast forward a year and here's Selwyn making his debut and Reece isn't even in the picture.

Yeah that's right, the narrative the media seems to have been pushing the last month was for him to play as you said it puts bums on seats, sells jerseys, papers etc.
I hope the contract with him is pretty much done, Selwyn is the biggest marketing tool in the game right now he's the face of the Broncos and I love how in his interview talked about being a role model and doing the right things

Reece's name hasnt been mentioned, not even in the extended goes to show what the Warriors will do to you.

Look at their team’s relative positions in the comp. Walsh made a mistake going to NZ.

Also, shame Flegs isn’t in, I reckon he would have made it a mission to absolutely belt Haas.

What a fucking idiotic move that was. I couldn't believe people were claiming it put egg on our faces. There's no way that was ever going to be a good career move. Imagine what he must be feeling these days, being coached by Brown and playing for the warriors with cobbo (who brisbane put behind him at the time) playing in front of 40,000 on a 6 game winning streak and playing origin. He'd be burning BAD and I love it....

Hard to watch that cobbo press conference without a smile on your face. What a delightful young guy to have in our team

If the Rorters somehow pinch him someone will go postal at Bondi. As they should.

Three cheers for the "future of the Broncos:"

I think he's a genuinely shy kid, after a scoring try and he sees himself on the big screen he starts smiling, almost as though he's embarrassed

Coates is being swapped to the left wing to allow Selwyn to stay on the right. Also clearing way for an Oates/Coates direct swap in Origin 2.
I think I would've preferred Cobbo on the left tbh

Qld left side will be facing Staggs and To'o

Qld right side will be facing Wighton/Crichton and Tupou

Given Coates struggles taking bombs in attack I'd have him against Tupou to disrupt and compete in defence and Cobbo, who has taken some nice catches, against To'o and Staggs (who's not the greatest blocker for his winger).

I think kicking will be a focal point for our attack, and I think we will also look for the mid field bombs for Coates/Gagai/Val/Cobbo/Nanai chasing through to compete.

It's a DCE special when he has Turbo
