Our new halfback should be

I see some potential in this George Williams... oh shit, I said that word again.

Could anyone tell me why Broncos don't have room in salary cap for next year? Broncos is not paying million dollar to any player. What the hell happened to salary cap?

Good question mate , i haven't a clue !

Personally I think it's time to drop the whole Hunt vs Milford thing much of it was built on emotion(and some resentment for the GF mistake)and I happily admit I've been guilty of it myself. Rightly or wrongly both deserved criticism and while I tend to agree Hunt deserved more then Milford in general it was somewhat disappointing to the level it got thrown at Hunt. It's time to deal with the here and now.

Hunt's departure is locked in and there is no changing that regardless of if that's something you wanted or not ad the sad thing of wanting is often you should be careful of what you wish for, you may just get it. the Broncos are now stuck in the position of finding a replacement in a real pickle of a position and I'll agree with the sentiment whoever it is needs to bring us a superior kicking game and playmaking game then either of Milford or Hunt can presently or perhaps ever provide.

Despite my criticism of Milford's start to the season, I do want him to get back to playing his best just as much as I want Hunt to finish his time at the Broncos in a top fashion rather then a forgettable disappointing exit. I'm not sure what the exact issue is for Milford atm, it could be his weight, perhaps off the field personal issues(not suggesting bad behavior), lacks confidence or perhaps even disinterested. If I was Bennett I'd pull him aside, find out where he is at mentally and tell him to take a step back and focus on the little things, get your confidence up and it will eventually come. We need to deal with this now, because when it comes to re-sign him, the expectations will only grow, especially with the expected deal.

Who do we target? I personally don't know, what I do know if it means we have to take a hit for next season to get it right, then do so, don't go to the market for the sake of it, get it right the first time.

Maybe we put bashing of anyone aside and be a little more constructive. It may be that hunt stays or that we look to someone else. I was impressed with scarlett in the cronulla trial and if has a good season in isc, wouldnt be against him having a go next year. It would depend as much on what he does in the big games eg. top of the table clashes, semi-finals as overall form as those are the games closest to what he may face. That goes for knick too, or anyone else for that matter. Id want to how those players respond to pressure. For me its more important to find a "steady-as-she-goes" personality to compliment milfords "x factor" as much as great kicking or passing, not that they arent important too.

Just because the Broncos are not paying that much doesn't mean they don't have it.

The Broncos are playing hardball. They are trying to get players for the lowest possible price.

How come they are saying we can't afford another star half then .

what if this happens

Coming from people that don't work at the Broncos and don't have access to the Broncos books..

or....

- He's getting targeted heavily by other teams
- He's getting shit service from dummy half
- He's 22....and still figuring this shit out.

??

I have probably been one of Macca's most vocal critics in terms of service in the red zone but he is the least of our attacking problems at present.

Can't see them having dough to pull SJ, he may realise a change of environment could do the world for him. Extremely unlikely I feel.

If the Storm are doing this, it's the best case scenario. Croft looks exceptional.

they will have cronk and possibly slaters $$

Because its the media and they say whatever the **** they want. Are you being serious?

How come they are saying we can't afford another star half then .

clubs always say that ... next minute go and buy another player.

the main reason they say it publicly is when the offer a player a lower offer than they want, they can play the salary cap card.

besides the Broncos don't know how much room they have since they don't know what the new cap will be and unlike other teams aren't taking the risk they will end up a long way over the cap

I'm a bit sick and tired of the continuous hyperbole and lies. Here are my opinions on the subject since at least 2014, and I dare anyone to prove otherwise:

- Jordan Kahu, whom I have followed for many years in his youth career since he came to Keebra Park, has been unlucky with his injuries, but he's a gun back with above average skills, who can play almost anywhere in the backline.
- Ash Taylor, who came through school and club footy alongside my own son, is a pure bred halfback with all the skills we lack in our halves. He's going to be a top half in the future and I'm really worried we are going to lose him.
- Hunt is a great tough running half, and I admire his loyalty to the club. Unfortunately, he lacks the kicking, control and organisation to be a top halfback. However he's a fantastic 5/8, but given we already have Milford there, who is a very similar player, but better, younger and with a bigger learning curve, I would prefer someone with the skills to compliment Milford.

Shock, horror, the hypocrisy!

For the record, I resisted Boyd's recruitment, because I knew he would automatically get the FB spot, when I preferred Milford as FB, Hunt as 5/8 and Taylor as HB, and if Boyd did come, I would've preferred him in the 3/4 line.

I've NEVER defended sacking Hunt or replacing him, unless we had someone better! We didn't last year.

P.S. I'll give anyone 3 guesses as to whom has been most critical of the above opinions in the last 3 years, and which players he has been bagging most since... I reckon no one will need all 3 guesses.

I think we have already lost him. Would have been awesome to see that spine , darius is a great fullback though. But could argue that it was milf that lost us ash , either way i think we screwed up.
