Came here to post this!!! Apparently they will move Milf to number 7 and be looking for a 5/8 instead of a new halfback.

Bird has 48 hours to reply to his offer

Milf looks like he is going to be halfback. Seeing him at training, he was so loud and barking orders to everyone , he seemed quite angry!

After the original shock of the Bird news had subsided i have done a full 180.

He is a very talented player. A great runner, with a nice adlib passing game. He also has a very underrated short kicking game.

The biggest thing that has changed my mind on him though, is his grand final performance. Early in the game he had his elbow severely hyperextended, resulting in very bad ligament tears. The footage is sickening. He had it strapped up and played on for the rest of the game in obvious pain. He even had the run that resulted in the penalty leading to the winning Fifita try. After rewatching that, i saw a Broncos player. Wayne has always picked the best 17 players available, even if their position on the field seems counter-intuitive, then builds a game plan around their strengths.

I have full confidence that Milf will make a great halfback, and that Bird would make a great Bronco.

How do you think he will go at halfback?

Honestly, I'm not sure. Seeing him at training how he was organising and barking out orders quite surprised me tbh, I thought he was pretty quiet! I don't think we have seen enough of his kicking game on a regular basis at the moment, so it's hard to judge. In not convinced 2 running halves will work for us, so Milf will have to change his style a little. I think it will be a while still before we see him in the half back role this season.

Will definitely have to be much more dominant than be currently is, I reckon he can do that based off what he did once Hunt went off against the Roosters.

I think we will see him at first receiver most of the time while Hunt is out. Definitely will play a halfback like role.

I just rewatches the last 30 minutes of the roosters game. One Hunt had come off.

He put in 5 kicks in that time (Kniko had a couple).

3 of them resulted in drop outs - 2 nice guebbers and one was a chip that forced SKD to catch it running backwards towards their ingoal. If it wasn't an accident, it was a perfect kick.

1 was a Hunt/Milf special, driving a low kick straight into the legs of a defender, not played at. Found touch 10 m behind him, in the middle of the field. Absolute shocker.

1 was a nice medium/long kick that found grass between the fullback and winger. Took Gordon a while to get to it. A great kick.

He also threw a nice floating cut out to Moga that put him in the position to set up the Mead try, and was heavily involved in the set up for Roberts try.

On top of that he had a couple of good runs, and gave Moga one or two balls with a bit of space to work with.

All very good signs. He seems to back himself more when Hunt isn't there to carry the weight. To me it seems more like a confidence thing than an attitude problem.

He could have gotten more involved but our forwards were doing a good job of passing between themselves and playing first recover roles.

All very good signs and I think Hunt's injury may just be a blessing in disguise for Milf as we may see him assert himself more on the team. The other thing I noticed is that he is struggling a little with being a support player because he seems to be overly concerned about getting ready for the next play. But I think once controlling the team becomes more 2nd nature to him he will be able to see the moments where you should push through for an offload.

The more Milford touches the ball the better I believe he is a gun when given the chance.
