Our new halfback should be

I agree with theshed I noticed that Milf moved into first receiver once Hunt went off and really ripped in.
I quite liked Knik's high kicks. It reminded me of the Lockyer years where he'd boot the ball higher than the roof. Hunt just doesn't have that. Nathan Cleary has a lockyeresque high bomb. Sigh.

There's 1 game that comes to mind when Milford really was the dominant half and was moving side to side and it was last year in our second game against Melbourne we flogged them 26/16. He was in everything he put in MoM performance and I hope that's what we see this week.

I am actually keen to see how Kodi goes this weekend. A lot of people have written him off but I think he might surprise a few people

I think he'll be fine. He started organizing the moment he came on, remember him pushing Boyd out of DH when attacking the Roosters line.

The more I think about it the more I believe a milf/knik combo could work. The short cameo last week coupled with the WCC game last year both had milf as the dominant playmaker and both times he looked more than comfortable at it.

If directing the team around starts to become second nature to him he could become one of the most dominant halfbacks going.

I believe the transition has already begun, probably as soon as hunt signed, and he looks to be making a good fist of it. Really interested to see how he goes with hunt out next few weeks.

I don't understand the relevance? Will it help me see the things some people on here see? Does Ash Taylor make tackles when you're high? Does Milford play better?
No but hash in tailor, solves everything.

Braidon Burns will agree.

He didn't have a great night handling that high bomb from Cleary.

It's one of the reasons why I want Cleary.

Honestly, I'm not sure. Seeing him at training how he was organising and barking out orders quite surprised me tbh, I thought he was pretty quiet! I don't think we have seen enough of his kicking game on a regular basis at the moment, so it's hard to judge. In not convinced 2 running halves will work for us, so Milf will have to change his style a little. I think it will be a while still before we see him in the half back role this season.
this is what irks me, it's like moving a winger infield for no reason. He's a running half so keep him as one.

I definitely had my doubts and still have some doubts about Milford as a game manager and a typical ball playing organising style halfback. However when hunt went off last week he did seem to take it on very well and handle it just fine and Kodi looked very comfortable as well.

I'm not going to get to carried away though I'm sure we will see over the next few weeks who is capable of what. While it's very disappointing hunt is out injured I think it's going to give us a lot of answers for next year probably months before we would have found out had hunt of not gotten injured. Exciting/nervous times ahead for fans!
