NEWS Pack your bags, Anthony!

Newscorp is reporting Ben Ikin has told Milford’s management he will not be offered a fresh contract and must find another club from 2022 onwards. He is expected to hit the open market immediately. Nothing on whether this will affect the rest of his season.

Ayoub reckons a bunch of clubs both here and in the Super League want to sign Milford:

“Anthony is fine - there is no bravado in saying to someone that we are not going to be keeping you. That is just the way that rugby league is. He never expected to be there, we didn’t expect him to be there, and the common theme throughout this process is that he needs a change. He needs to go somewhere where he can get back to playing his best and that definitely has to be elsewhere.”

Me too. The day may come where Queensland lose their best eleven options at 5/8 and we do in fact need Milford at number 12 to come and save us.

He will fail because the 11th best hooker option won't be providing him good ball, the coach won't use him properly, he won't have the correct halfback next to him and the bed he sleeps on in camp will be working against him.

I hope Ayoub has made the most of that sweet commission he has earned from the Milf, because he has got a shit of a job trying to get any form of a decent contract for him.

If anything it will vindicate to himself and other managers the benefit of chasing the biggest payday, as soon as possible.

So basically admitting he put the cue in the rack. Pathetic.

Jokes aside, the guy gave us a number of highlights that lets admit - you still play from time to time.

farewell!
The frustrating thing has been to watch these last few years knowing what he was able to produce, but stopped performing after we gave him stupid money, then the excuses that came with it.

I think of it similar to Boyd. Was honestly one of my favourite players and I was so happy he was coming back. I can barely remember the good times now because of what happened at the end. He and Milford stayed Broncos for about 2 years too long. (Imo)

That was true once upon a time, but I haven't been able to watch it recently. All it does is remind me of how much wasted potential there is there, and there is plenty.

Both of those blokes careers got murdered by pies.

IMO Milford is the product of his own work ethic. Or lack thereof. There were signs early on that he simply did not care enough to want to improve or develop, beyond some areas of his kicking. Lockyer had talent, but more importantly was a perfectionist. Milford thought he already had everything he needed, the million dollar contract re-affirmed it for him.
