Welp, another selection headache we have to deal with.

Since Nikos injury paved way for Parcells NRL debut, the kid has been pretty much killing it. His darts out of dummy half are like lightning, his passes are on point and his defense is awesome.

Nikorima might have some competition by the time his injury is gone. It is going to be very interesting to see who Bennett ultimately goes with.

Sound off on who you would prefer. I'm going with Parcell personally but only slightly. I just like the fact that Niko can cover the halves in the off chance Milf or Hunt get carted off injured, touch wood.

Happy with either but I prefer Niko, at this stage just a little bit more dangerous and as you say, versatile.

The depth we need

I would still go with Kodi.

He provides more spark out of dummy half. He is quick, has good footwork and he has quite an offload on him.

I don't think we would have won against the Panthers if it wasn't for Kodi. We were going nowhere in that final set until Kodi got the ball.

I'm on the Parcell wagon. Think he has considerably better defence and service. Who knows, maybe he could end up better than McCullough too.

Kodi has that X Factor off the bench that a lot of Premiership winning teams have had. Kodi for sure. But Parcell looks awesome.

It's a nice dilemma to have, I think Kodi has a bit more versatility to him and more of an X-Factor than Parcell does though.

JNik.

KNik has been better than I thought he would be but I'm still not 100% sold on him. Think I'd slightly prefer Parcell but both are great. I mean, I was expecting Waddell during pre-season, so it's all gravy IMO!

Pfff Waddell is like, 6th choice hooker at the moment. What a waste of a signing.

Maybe Bennett could still use Waddell.

He read this forum in the pre-season and saw how much we hated him. So he decides to **** with us by using Parcell and Kodi. And then in the back end of the season he brings up Waddell.

He comes back on this forum and watches the meltdown.

I think Parcell has offered a more stable option off the bench, Kodi has more X-Factor, but Parcell is giving us some good defence in the middle and great service.

Has anyone seen Bennett and 1910 in the same room?

Parcell by a fraction for me. Love the way he is playing and defensively much better than Kodi

I think everyone is spot on with their analysis of both players. But you have to consider that it is of huge benefit to us to be able to select a team based on the opposition each week. KNik is an amazing broken field player with a great X-Factor and better vision than Parcell in terms of offloads. However, Parcell offers fantastic defense but I am a little concerned with his delivery and his darts from half don't often look like they will result in an offload. He doesn't look as wily as KNik. I get confused seeing Macca and Parcell on at the same time, they look like they trip over each other and don't work well together.

That being said, Benny has the ability to pick a utility to suit a game. Melbourne are fierce attackers and really awesome at scoring repeat sets just like tonight. KNik may not even have been selected had he been fit. Parcell would have been the more reasonable choice against teams like this. Whereas with the teams that are terrible at defending then a broken field player like KNik was just what was needed.

We went from bugger all depth to plenty of selection headaches. Good times.

We haven't seen Parcell in attack just yet.

Nik fired straight away showing great attack. (It was Hodges put him in the gap for his first try i think).

Parcell on the other hand has come on when we are defending heavily and has handled it really well. He looked better with the ball tonight than he did last time but it was still limited.

im not sure about parcell just yet, I cant pin point it but Im just not sold on him. He may well go on and have a long career which would be great for the kid but I have a feeling he might be one of those really good qld cup players but never really goes on in the nrl. who knows though, only time will tell.

I'm just glad that Bennett sees the value in using a sparky dummy half off the bench.

At this stage, reckon Parcell is slightly better defensively but Kodi seems more confident in his running game. Plus he's pulled out big plays at crucial moments. Parcell looks a bit hesitant about when to scoot, which is understandable though considering he's rather new to first grade.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Wayne prefer Nikorima over Parcell on current form.

Largely for the reasons provided in this thread (versatility, skill etc.) but partially because of their relationship with their respective ISC side.

Parcell was the Jet's best player last year and is one of the most dangerous players in the Queensland Cup. Meanwhile Kodi hasn't played for Norths since last year and they've been struggling since. While Kodi will have to play Queensland Cup at some point in order to find him a position, I don't think it'd be in his best interests to play there this year.
