COREY Parker has ensured he will be a one-club man after signing a new three-year deal with the WOW Brisbane Broncos.
Parker, who first signed a scholarship to the Broncos as a 15-year-old from the Logan Brothers club, inked a contract that will keep him at Red Hill until the end of the 2011 season.
“It is wonderful to sign Corey for three more years,†said Broncos’ chief executive Bruno Cullen.
“We are signing a player who has come through our development system from a young age, being a former Colt of the Year.
“He is a great asset to this club – he is now a senior mentor in the NRL squad, has become an 80-minute player, and a wonderful goal kicker to boot.â€Â
Cullen also said Parker’s new contract showed confidence in the Broncos as they search for a new head coach.
“He has shown confidence in our club structure by signing before we announce our next coaching appointee,†said Cullen.
“We hope this demonstrates that our coaching staf structure is respected by the playing group.â€Â

Wonderful news [eusa_clap.gi . Corey is one of the most underrated players in the game imo.

Yep, and he'll leave the club/retire with a lifetime membership. This is his 8th year, life membership after 10.

What a servant to the club he's been.

He one of the future (if not, current) leaders of the forward pack.

Great news and I hope his signature helps convince others to stay no matter who's coaching.

Thats great news, ive always rated him as a player.

So will this also mean he will get a discount on the slary cap at 8 - 10years? That will help as well.

FANTASTIC NEWS _woohoo_

Really rate Parker

Thats awsome news, funny it wasn't talked about at all.

Its still hard to believe he's been around for so long, with plenty of years still left in him. Great time to secure a 3 year deal aswell as he's now really establishing himself as one of the best backrowers in the comp.

Definitely good timing, anyone know how much hell take from the salary cap 250k?>

Yep, and I still remember his debut game - scoring a try against the Warriors in Auckland - same game that Ben Ikin did his knee for the first time, the beginning of the end of his career.

Was also the first time the Broncos ever lost to the Warriors, but we won't remember that bit

Wondered when you'd be in Mrs Parker [icon_wink

This is great news as along with Hannant and IMO Sims he will be the cornerstone of our forward pack for many years to come.
