NEWS Payne Haas retracts immediate release from Broncos then

Have a mate who was contracted to the cows a few years ago, he's still in touch with some of the boys that were there ie TMM, Jensen. From what he's told me the playing group is privately seething and although no one will come out and say it. I just cant believe he's still playing tonight, i would have no trust defending next to him
I want to believe this rumour.

Hi everyone,
I've heard alot of information re our negotiations with Haas. I can't garauntee that he is coming, but we are certainly an option.
There have been three meetings with Payne Haas' management.

1. The first was last year after he got new management - this took place on a quiet day at BSG.
2. The second was when the Broncos were in Sydney in Round 2 - which also involved our major sponsor ShoeGrab who he was with. Haas and his manager were there.
3. The most recent meeting I know of was during magic round. Gus and Tyran Smith met for dinner. This was at Halo Ground resturant from what I've heard. Haas was not there.
I can't be certain that he's coming to Belmore as there is about to be a crazy bidding war, but don't rule us out as a geniune option.

Except we could really use his money, and if we're being honest, it was always going to be bad moneyball for us if he agreed to our terms. Truth is he's giving us the tough love we needed to cut him loose.

While we're at it: we have to quit the bait and switch promises. Both he and Patty had the captaincy dangled in front of them. Only one of them in good faith, albeit with two new captains imported into the queue in front of him in Reynolds and Capewell. Same with Kotoni and Herbie being thrown 6 and 1 as a lure, neither of which is going to happen.

Speaking of Patty, the club needs to look after this kid. We don't want him being the next to go. I see him as the glue that holds this team together, and a lot of the bits have been coming unstuck.
Havn't we already promised @Wolfie's hand in marriage? That is sure to solidify his services.

Lol what a fucking child.

You threaten to beat a cop whilst Cobbo drove an unregistered car on an expired licence.

One of these things is not like the other.

They should toughen up I reckon. Players ask for releases all the time, were they seething when Milford was leeching 1m off the cap while eating Maccas every day, or when Bird sucked up a million a year only to leave and immediately bag out the club, or when Isaako left and said our coaching staff suck, or when Coates said **** you guys are the worst I'd rather take less money to go somewhere else?

If players drop their bundle because of this, they're weak as piss. Harden up and do your job. Haas first and foremost, but certainly no excuse for anyone else to drop their heads.

Reynolds/Capes are strong leaders, they've all seen this a million times in their careers, I hope they're in the boys ears.
No one has seen their club offer a team mate what Payne is being offered, and certainly not have them throw it back in the club's face, seemingly insulted.

Even so, harden up. They're professionals, contract negotiations are part and parcel.

I think they should play him but I’d plan to give him a short opening stint (~20 minutes) if we kick on and look like winning I’d keep him on the bench unless absolutely required.
Was thinking the exact same. Sends a clear message to him without his management and media claiming we aren't doing the right thing by him....

That's where the infamous shoes came form! SHOEGATE!

I bet if he had a long term injury and we were still paying him good money he wouldn’t be saying that he gets treated unfairly at the club.

Matt Johns, Denan Kemp and David Riccio discussing the Payne situation. They reckon Payne's a humble level headed bloke and this is 100% his manager, and that it's a monumental fuckup that stands to tarnish his future, citing Noddy and DCE as examples. The Payne stuff is first up.

It's time Payne faced the press and shut this down.

Could it be Albert got news of this meeting in Sydney and Payne was given a new pair of shoes by Shoegrab hence the reason he was stepping on them.
But Albey being a few beers deep forgot he heard this and forgot when he was nursing his hangover the next morning.

What if Albert was singing "one for the money" when he stepped on his shoes

I hope you are on the money here.

I also hope Kev pulls a 12th hour talk to the playing group: “sorry Payne, but as requested by many of your team mates, you will not be taking part in tonight’s clash”.

The respect that the club would gain from its fans, members and sponsors would be enormous.
Then if we went onto win it‘d be a massive line in the sand moment from the club.
