NEWS Payne Haas retracts immediate release from Broncos then

its more the outing of his teammates, like Cobbo. How can you look at the bloke in the sheds before the game and want to make a tackle beside him idk. All for players getting as much money as they can but this right here is the difference between a legend of the game and well him, he will just end up a washed NSW forward like klemmer lol. Also dont say you're all about loyalty then numbers 🤣🤣

I prefer my idea. Hire a person to punch the shit out of him.

Does Jamayne Isaako still know those bikers from the barber shop. Asking for a friend. 🤔
Where is Albert Kelly when you need him?

Matt Johns, Denan Kemp and David Riccio discussing the Payne situation. They reckon Payne's a humble level headed bloke and this is 100% his manager, and that it's a monumental fuckup that stands to tarnish his future, citing Noddy and DCE as examples. The Payne stuff is first up.

It's time Payne faced the press and shut this down.

One thing I didn't expect but am massively happy about is the support of every other nrl clubs fans and the media towards us. Paynes management have massively fucked up here. He will still get the money but he better hope the club he joins improves their results dramatically with him there otherwise he will get tarnished with the "disruptive" player tag throughput his career which will lead to less and less interest. He still has 10 years left in his career.

His management are slime but the stupidity of this guy is INCREDIBLE. I reckon 10 year olds would see through what his management are doing to him lol

Ummm didn’t the NRL impose the bans not the Broncos?
It's my theory that the NRL works in tandem with the clubs in handing down punishments. Some misdemeanors they shake their head and "sort it out internally." If the press/fans need to see blood, the NRL integrity unit gets called in to do the dirty work. Or if the club wants to pull a player into line, but doesn't want to be the bad cop, they can offload the punishment to the NRL. If you look at what appear to be inconsistencies, it makes a lot more sense.

The club understands the players are young, are going to have fun and are going to ****-up, be naughty or stupid. They get that, but they still need them to do what they're told and not be rebellious so they can form a team out of them.

The NRL, on the other hand, is more concerned with image. If the club can handle the image side of it, they have less need to get involved. It's also in the NRL's best interest not to feed the bad publicity. So if you have a litany of players being sanctioned, it's not a good look for the code either.

It's not the NRL or club's job to be an adjunct to the criminal system. It's their job to convince mums and dads that rugby league is a good sport for their kids.

I bet if he had a long term injury and we were still paying him good money he wouldn’t be saying that he gets treated unfairly at the club.

I bet he didn't feel unfairly treated when we significantly upgraded his rookie contract (which was also unprecedented)

Ummm didn’t the NRL impose the bans not the Broncos?

yep, with the exception of the very first offence of not co-operating with the integrity unit.

however, this wasn't in their thinking ... they didn't expect the club and it's fans to turn on him and now their scrambling for a new excuse for his actions

Well yes, none of the clubs want to deal with this tactic becoming the norm. That's why I think Payne's agent should get blackballed. Payne will regret having met him.

So they don't think he has a club lined up, and his new management wants a new deal so they receive a cut. If that's true then he's dumb as dogshit.

Nothing short of Haas firing his manager for mis-representation will clear the stain that now besmirches his name.

If left as is, that is, the demands for an immediate release, his name will carry a dark cloud with it throughout his playing days and long after.

Make no mistake this is not close to SBW's situation. This is one based solely on greed. Haas' manager has made him look like an absolute money-hungry goose.

I want the Broncos to have the balls & stick to the decision on not releasing him.

Let us be the first team to take a stand.

Until he fronts the press, we don't know what he thinks. From what he's said to date, it appears he leaves all his contract and money stuff to his agent. This agent has clearly done a number on him, and maybe he's behind Payne being in court with his old manager.

In Payne's defence, he's never pretended to be smart, and he's always deferred questions of money to his manager.

But we need to hear from Payne before we go either way on this. Right now, it's all blowing back on Payne. He's not going to like that.

On the dogs forum.

Anyone know someone in the know, to report this

Hi everyone,
I've heard alot of information re our negotiations with Haas. I can't garauntee that he is coming, but we are certainly an option.
There have been three meetings with Payne Haas' management.

1. The first was last year after he got new management - this took place on a quiet day at BSG.
2. The second was when the Broncos were in Sydney in Round 2 - which also involved our major sponsor ShoeGrab who he was with. Haas and his manager were there.
3. The most recent meeting I know of was during magic round. Gus and Tyran Smith met for dinner. This was at Halo Ground resturant from what I've heard. Haas was not there.
I can't be certain that he's coming to Belmore as there is about to be a crazy bidding war, but don't rule us out as a geniune option.
I actually hope he does go to dogs. Would love that.

Be even better if we get Burton out of it.

Yeah we don't know the full story. But the leaving it to your manager excuse doesn't cut it at some point, you are responsible for your own reputation and no one else.

Let's assume Payne Haas has a team ready to sign him right now and have offered him a contract. If the Broncos release him then what team would logically want a million dollar player that's willing to throw his teammates under the bus, be selfish and request a release the day before a game. Let it leak to the media before he tells his teammates and disrupt a teams season whilst they're experiencing success. Have a tantrum because a team that increased his pay with absolute no obligation to do so, essentially didn't increase it enough. Not to mention all the off field issues he's had.

The kids an idiot! Maybe you were worth a million dollars but your actions have just caused your stock value to plummet and if there is a team waiting for Payne's signature then the ball is in their court because there is no way a team would pay him as much as he is getting now, knowing what he has done to the Broncos. It's even worse if there isn't a team lurking in the shadows trying to lure him away.

Talk about backing yourself into a corner.
What an absolute idiot!

What's the point in contracts anymore.. Probably needs a shoulder recon anyways.

Anyone else find it a very weird feeling having 100% of the media on our side with this one?
I am yet to hear from anyone in the media sticking up for or backing Payne’s decision.

No doubt the tide will turn when in the background he has agreed to join the Roosters because you’ll have the likes of Fittler & Cronk running the rorters agenda via the media..

There's no way he doesn't have a contract in front of him already and there's no way the contracts value is 1 million dollars. He'll make up the rest of it playing golf over the next few years.
