I don't want him playing in our grand final.
I wanr Kev to say, I am only picking players that want to be here.
I don't want him playing in our grand final.
This topic is far too complex and emotional to get into here. I could certainly discuss it further with you, if you like, but I think it will derail this thread. I have written and deleted my response 3 times here. When I say "walk in their shoes" imagine if you have this base conditioning you are less than human, and that's reinforced by the dystopia of your community, and the interactions you have outside it. Seeing guys like Selwyn Cobbo celebrated as not just human, but superhuman, and being associated with your community, is a heck of a good start to unpicking that.
For me, realizing that almost all my favourite footballers were Aboriginal, without me having even twigged to it, was something of a lightbulb moment. It was good for me, too.
He also hasn’t tweeted about it. Smoke, fireI thought the exact same thing.
They also have a bunch of kiwi internationals as wel though.Where does this absolute myth come from that the Roosters are stacked with stars? It's out of date bullshit.
QLD Origin team: 4 Broncos, 1 Rooster
NSW Origin team: 2 Broncos, 3 Roosters (and 1 is a reserve)
So that's 6 Broncos in Origin, 4 Roosters.
Even Penrith only has 6 players in Origin. All for NSW.
So do we. And even though we got rid of the NZ fullback because he was useless, we replaced him with another NZ international. They also have a bunch of kiwi internationals as wel though.
This is a very odd discussion. Trying to bend facts to make it seem like we are just as stacked for talent as the Roosters would be like trying to convince someone that after her recent weight loss Rebel Wilson is just as hot as Scarlett Johansson.
That last line in particular, couldn't agree more.I don't know why we would be renegotiating anything at this point. I would pull any extension on the grounds that he has publicly said he doesn't want a longer deal. I would pull any offer of a pay rise since he's also publicly said it's not about the money. Tell him we're already top 4 and finals bound so we're ahead of his schedule so he has no right to ask for anything else.
He is under contract until the end of 2024. No-one can put a deal to him legally before 1 November next year. I don't know how DD and Ikin manage this in the meantime - because he has got to go if he starts derailing our season, and let's be honest at this point we would all prefer to see the back of him. But he also can't be allowed to get what he wants. I'm sure smarter people than me can come up with ways to get the best out of this situation.
I do hope the Broncos are on the blower to the NRL asking them to step in if we do give him a release, so he has to sit out until his contract would have been finished. Or at the very least he cannot sign anywhere else under more favourable conditions than the Broncos were offering. It might be petty but I'd also like to see him not allowed to play against the Broncos until 2025 either.
Badel is reporting he’s committed to seeing out his deal.
The "right reasons" are he signed a binding contract and the club owns his arse.I won’t be convinced until he comes out and says something half intelligent that he’s staying for the right reasons.
