NEWS Payne Haas retracts immediate release from Broncos then

Not sure what others think...but i think the longer it goes on the more likely Haas is to re-sign.
Not sure if I want him to, but thats the vibe Im getting...its just the vibe.

Listening to those in the media who would be privvy to the inside info like Lockyer saying the boos will stop, or Freddy saying he wasnt concerned about the distraction for origin camp...just makes it sound like he's not going anywhere.

Just my gut thought that management tried to make a splash, realised they ballsed it up, but Payne wants to stay. Hopefully the manager has his tail between his legs speaking to Ikin and DD, before some sort of announcement will be made trying to downplay it all and that he will at least see out his contract.

I normally can't stand Kent, but I loved how he started his article today:

"In another of those exclusives that in reality seem like a press release from the publicity department of Khoder Nasser Publications ..."

Nothing new in the article however, just about his channel nine interview with Weidler (the part he refers to in his opening) and Haas inconsistence

I don't think there's any chance he re-signs, I know what the club is saying is that they want to keep him and all that but it's exactly the same thing they were saying about Dearden and any other player who we either let go or didn't chase hard enough to keep

I really just think that they're trying to get something out of this before they release him, perhaps something from the club that they release him to

hopefully we've pulled the extension offer ... let him go and earn the same (because he won't get more) money in Sydney where the cost of living is much higher

Where does this absolute myth come from that the Roosters are stacked with stars? It's out of date bullshit.

QLD Origin team: 4 Broncos, 1 Rooster
NSW Origin team: 2 Broncos, 3 Roosters (and 1 is a reserve)

So that's 6 Broncos in Origin, 4 Roosters.

Even Penrith only has 6 players in Origin. All for NSW.

1. Teddy (NSW)
2. Tupou (NSW)
3. Momo
4. Manu (Kiwi)
5. Suaali (extended NSW squad)
6. Walker (emerging Qld origin squad)
7. Keary (NSW)
8. JWH (Kiwi)
9. Bsmith - next year (Kiwi)
10. Collins (Qld)
11. Tupouniua (nothing yet but played for Tonga in 2019)
12. Crichton (NSW)
13. Victor (got off suspension because Freddy was going to pick him)

7 have played or are still playing state of origin or internationals (will be 8 next year with Bsmith), 3 are all but guaranteed (Walker, Suaali and Victor). Victor would've already played had it not been for suspensions and injuries.

The thing with the Roosters that gives them their current status is that most of these rep players they signed from other clubs when they became rep players

I am not sure if this has been posted anywhere as I am overseas and my time zones are all out of whack but interesting this for two points:

1. He talks about how much he loves the club and is so happy to be playing for us
2. What the heck is going in with the EXTREME close up when he is talking?

Which is an interesting situation. Fifita has been a disaster for the Titans, I’m not sure if anyone else would make that mistake again unless they are truly desperate aka Bulldogs and after SBW, would they really be behind this to another club?

For all the heat Gus cops, one thing is for certain and that is Haas will not be at the Bulldogs under Gould’s watch.

He had to make tough decisions to get The Panthers back in decent salary cap shape by releasing big names at the time who were overpaid in Jennings, Lewis and Gordon.

He has an even bigger job at the Bulldogs and he will not sabotage the work required to fix that club by paying over a million dollars for a prop forward. That much you can take to the bank. You watch TPJ be forced out of the club ASAP under Gus’ watch because there is nothing worse than having players not playing to value when it comes to rebuilding a club.

Bulldogs shouldn’t even be on Haas radar if he wants to walk into a ‘successful’ club.

They said on NRL360 the only club that could consider it would be the Tigers but even recently, they've backed out of negotiations with players once their asking price was too much

depends which of his statements is actually true.

if he wants more money (most likely since it was the initial claim) then Bulldogs or Tigers will be on his radar, although it is doubtful even those desperate clubs will give him $1.2 million per season.

if he want success and is looking to go to the likes of the Roosters, Panthers or Storm, then he also needs to be prepared to take a pay cut because they probably wouldn't even pay him what we are ... he also is now less likely going to be able to recoup that pay cut through TPAs since he has successfully tarnished his brand (possibly to a point he can't come back from)

The fact that all the media are on our side, and there is only a small inner sanctum influencing Haas, is just playing to their insulated mindset. This is how vulnerable and gullible people are indoctrinated, they will love the fact that everyone has turned against him, he will have no choice but to remain under their influence.

Unless we can somehow reach him through their bullshit, he is gone. It would be amazing if the NRL allows us to tear up his contract and ban him from the game until his contract was due to end, like they did with SBW

Don't always agree with him but **** I love the guru. Just deadset loves rugby league. But for me, denan Kemp, aka the beak, is still the best media personality. He just so happens to LOVE the broncos too, love his passion. As the beak himself would say I get the feeling haa$ and his little gang are about to get punched in the dick by DD and ikin

Nothing special compared to your average Broncos squad over the last twenty years. Random sample: look at this bunch of underachievers from 2019. Staggs, Fifita, TPJ and Flegler on the bench being the nobodies. I think every player on this team played Origin/International.
