NEWS Payne Haas retracts immediate release from Broncos then

To be honest I don't hate him. I just don't love him anymore. It is like an ex girlfriend or something, he is dead to me. I can't ever respect him the way I did Webcke, Petro, Carrol, Gee, Parker, Thorn or any off our great forwards.

He has proven himself a mercenary in his thought process. He has no love for the club or it's history. So i can't respect him as a person. Yeah I can admire things he does on the field but that will be it. His brand is most definitely tarnished. Until he goes to the club that loves it's mercenaries and buying premiership. The roorters. I will hate him with every inch of my being once he plays for them.
This is my position as well, i don't hate him, but i don't care if he leaves anymore.
I hate what he has done, but its a good way to filter the dickheads out of the side as well.
There are a lot of good Bronco's right now who are easy to get behind and support (looking at you Patty, Cobbo, Palasia, Reynolds, Herbie, Riki, TMM, etc etc etc).
Any Bronco who supports Haas right now needs a reality check.

Same. Hate losing players but if Haas leaves, I wouldn't care. The care factor would be the same for Ryan James and his 6 games.

The Roosters aren't giving up manu

Depends how badly they want Payne. They have fullback tied up for years with Teddy and Suaalli and now we are on the up you never know if he will fancy the move. They are going to be desperate for a good prop with JWH and Tuakeiaho either leaving or coming to the end of their careers.

They aren't going to swap one of their marquee players who can play multiple positions for a prop.. its not going to happen. It would be like us swapping cobbo for papali'i. It just doesn't make sense

No way Roosters would ever give up Manu given how he single handedly has kept or won games for the Roosters this year. What a gun.

When you watch Manu at fullback today, if we could manage to swap him for Haas it would be an excellent bit of business.
He was insane, didn't watch the whole game but his stats alone tell the story.
There the type of stats I think we'd see Herbie get similar too at fullback, as I think they play abit alike.
I doubt the roosters would let Manu go but I'd still ask the question.

Of course it makes sense if they felt they needed a prop over a center. Its absolutley nothing like us swapping Cobbo for Papali'i because we dont have two of our mainstay props coming to the end of their careers like they do with JWH and SST. Ours are all on the up really. He's also only a fill in at fullback or 6 and he isnt that great at 6. Fullback he is, but they have Tedesco, who would have at least 3 years left in him which would make Manu 28 or 29 by the time he gets a shot there, and they have invested in Suaalli as Tedesco's replacement anyway.

If Manu is happy where he is we more than likely wouldn't stand a chance, if he wants to play fullback then it suddenly becomes a different story.

I still think if he wants to play at 1, the opportunity could be there because as i have mentioned, he is going to be a center most of the time. I doubt he would want to leave the Rorters but you never know.

It's been so obvious for years that manu would be up there with the best fullbacks in the game if he played there full time, yet he seems very happy to bide his time at centre for 3 or 4 years, and not much interest was shown in him when he was off contract. In fact he signed for unders to have the privilege of playing in front of 10 fans at the scg for the Roosters.

He must be shit at golf.....

I think he has been promised the 6 when Keary retires. Going on form, that could be end of the year.

No doubt keary will medically retire or fail a drug test at the end of the year....

I’m sorry Manu is a talented player but that will be the worst 300 metre game you will ever see in your life. He was pretty average. He poorly timed his runs out of dummy half and tried way to hard with too little output. Tries to do way to much every time he gets it. You all say gun cause of his stats and whilst Manu is an amazing player choose the week he deserves to get his dick sucked to suck his dick. Not gonna fault his effort cause on that spectrum it was amazing, still did the odd freaky thing but it was a case of one of those few times you can say the stats don’t show the full picture in a negative way. Nowhere near the best player for the chooks let alone on the field. Most the Raiders side had a better game than him. If he timed his moments a bit better and didn’t over play his hand there attack may have been less clunky and would have gone a long way to optimising their opportunities a bit better. Whole team played pretty average so not putting it on him but a game with half the metres and tackle breaks with a bit more brains, less hogging and more direct play would have gone a long way. No the chooks won’t let him go but nothing about that game from him made me stand there and envy the fact the Chooks have him. Probably the best and most consistent centre in the game but he isn’t a fullback for mine.

Manu is a good player but he isn't what we need at all.

When I saw him play fullback today I saw a centre who was occupying many parts of the field, his best play of the game going side on to the line and then popping out the right arm offload is what he does as a centre normally.

If we signed him it would be a waste of cap, we already have Staggs and Manu hasn't got the play making skills of TMM in fullback so I doubt he would be able to take the role off him(assuming he stays).

If we lacked a good right side centre he could make sense for sure, but we infact have a really good one so it would be a bad signing for us.

Haas has done more media in the last week then he has in his entire career. His brother also passed away a long time ago. I actually think it's really poor form to come out with this now. It's an obvious ploy to get sympathy. If you want to fall for it that's upto you...

To be fair that story was 98% his dad. Which is a play from Badel's book- Origin camp when players aren't easily got at he goes for family.

He did it in Queensland camp one year when Matt Scott's mum died- he rang Scott's sister to get a quote and write a story. Scott was livid.
