PLAYER Payne Haas

Protip: don't circumvent "ignore" if you need every joke explained to you like you're 5.
I'm not circumventing anything, your posts are available to everyone and not just the 4 people you haven't blocked because they're yet to question your boy Pete. Just figured you'd unblocked me again.

Anyway, shit joke then.

Capewell is easily the bigger disappointment, he’s proven that it should be a blip. My concern is riki will be a (not prime) Alex glenn.
Reynolds is probably the biggest disappointment, but only because our expectations were so high, and we know he can meet them. And we understand how much he was struggling with injuries.

Hold up. You don't just get to claim this without evidence. How on Earth does the Riki hate look like homophobia?
Because its sensationalistic......has an air of click bait.......and in general, has the hallmark of social "media" journalism about it......

You know....the kind of stuff that is right up McCunts alley. 😉

Superfan @Foordy dutifully reposts all Pete Badel content these days. Please direct your complaints to him.

I actually disagree. I think Reynolds did about as good as could be expected for a small half with limited physical attributes in a spine that sucks ass and a team full of the rugby league illiterate.

He’s not a Ben Hunt or Munster type half who, if all else fails, can just play selfish and be a damaging runner of the ball. He needs other players to make the most of his ability.

I think Capewell was a massive flop. I think he was likely injured for much of the season and coaching staff should’ve made the tough call to give him a rest.

The biggest disappointment was probably Staggs. The guy was invisible. He had that short stint at the end of last year where you thought with him and Haas in the team anything is possible. Wrong.

...and I think in general, limited footballing abilities.

ARey needs a bit of other talent firing around him for Arey to shine.

six tries same as ben hunt but had more try assists, definitely not a one trick pony .
Wasn’t at all trying to imply that he is. He is extremely smart and creative. He just doesn’t have the same running game as a Hunt or passing game as a Moses.

What he lacks though he makes up for in creativity and smarts

This.

Staggs is the biggest disappointment this season for me.
Bloke has all the potential to be a weapon and just isn't.
Its a lot of money on a guy you barely even notice is in the side most weeks.

Yeah that’s starting to look like really bad money. I was one of the people who was all for making sure we retained him as well. Wouldn’t bother us so much if he was out of form but it’s his lack of energy and poor body language out on the field. Can’t get out of his contract quick enough.

i rated him highly and overlooked his alleged dickheadness but o always thought the 800k was a terrible investment.

What exactly is the joke?

That's what I was wondering. I guess McHunt thinks Riki is gay, and therefore any criticism directed his way might be camouflaged homophobia, but I don't know where the joke is in there.

The bigger joke is assuming the forum is largely homophobic when a significant portion of the male population here would turn for Pat with barely a thought. I mean, my wife is well aware that's the case.

When do you guys reckon Haas to Roosters will be announced? When they drop out of the finals race of in the middle of offseason so it doesn’t get any media attention?
They’re probably organising a mid season transfer just in time for the finals.

Ikin:

“We will sit down with Payne and his management to discuss his situation. We value Payne highly at this club and we see him as an important part of our push for better things in the future.”
“The Payne Haas issue I have found fascinating. The commentary from the outside is how does a player like Payne ask for a release and then turn up to training the next day and look his teammates in the eye and expect to remain engaged and connected? The players don’t care. Seriously, they do not care."
“I ended up having a chat with Payne once I became less emotional and more objective about it and the truth is Payne Haas asked for a release. He was entitled to do that. He is within his rights to do that. But the thing he did straight after that is when that request was rejected, he immediately reaffirmed his commitment to giving his best for the club.”
