So culturally speaking he can work hard and make something of himself, but they can’t?
Maybe they aren’t generational physical specimens. Maybe they work hard but they’re capacity to earn is minimal due to limited education, applicable intelligence, or physical attributes. Maybe their opportunities are limited due to their socioeconomic background.

Either way, im not defending them. But I can empathise with Haas regarding the pressure and obligations he must feel to support them.

Need to move haas on. He's just a deadset grub everywhere but the football field. Wonder why he can't use some of that anger in defense

I doubt Haas has the training or knowledge to handle this well. Like many of the kids you see in the stroller after seeing mum and dad first, you just think they're little chance of succeeding.

The poor kid has like 7 siblings and who knows how many cousins, uncles, and aunties. They will all be looking at Haas to provide for them. It would be hard to put any club, especially a struggling one, over putting food on the table and a roof over the head of dozens of family members.

both his parents have been locked up, his brother passed away - if he earns enough money he could break the cycle for his kids, nieces and nephews.

What would you prioritise? You’r family or a football club? Your kids or strangers who call themselves fans?

It’s pretty hard to be mad at him.

He's not going to break the cycle by earning moar money and letting them mooch off him. And is definitely not going to break the cycle by perpetuating the notion that it's the big bad system that is ruining their lives, and not their own idiotic choices and actions.

His mum was at a casino…….maybe he should give them less money.

Give her a break FFS...she's got 9 kids to look after.
She deserves to unwind every now and then....

The annying thing will be watching him become the player we know he can be. It's gonna really suck. But it's a bit like the Ben Hunt or Dearden situation - it's just not tenable here anymore.

Haas is way worse than those two. They never undermined our season.
Hunt never gave up for us. He made that tackle on a broken leg.
Dearden just never got going.

Dearden just never got going.

It didn't help he was constantly having to learn new combinations because of the chopping and changing.

He had no stability. Young halves need stability.

Don't really care tbh. He is destined to be the next Pangai. Happy to pull off a freakish play on field once every 2 or 3 games but the negative influence he has off field is just not worth it.

I’ll assume we have just witnessed Payne’s last game in the Broncos colours.
No doubt he’s looking at how Lodge is going at the rorters and see the light.
