Peter Wallace arreseted

From what I have heard this is what happened.

Wallace was asked to leave because he had too much to drink, he went to tell his friends what happened & the bouncers over reacted.

Wallace got a cut on the ear from a photo on the wall. (maybe when the bouncers pushed him etc)

Wallace wasn't playing up etc.

If he was asked to leave the why the hell didn't he just leave? I wouldn't be surprised if the bouncers over reacted though, it seems like habit to most of the roided up gorillas.

Well, he was the birthday boy. Would've been weird if he disappeared in the middle of his own party.

I've been kicked out of a pub before, and I wanted to let my mates know I'd been kicked out so they wouldn't be worried.

The bouncer there had no problem with that... In fact, it's rare that they would have a problem with it unless all the mates are stuck in the middle of a packed dance floor or something.

I'm sure Wallace can afford a phone. A text message would have sufficed would it not?

Some bouncers are just pricks and it's not too much of a stretch for one to overreact. I have been to that pub in Mooloolaba and it can get pretty crazy. The short 2 weeks that I was up there I saw/heard at least 5 fights and/or arguments, so it's no wonder bouncers are on edge. Apparently it's like that all the time on the esplanade there.

Are you a female?

I've been asked to leave too, politely asked to tell my mates and started getting shoved in the back.

(One time I got kicked out before I even got inside. I hadn't even had a drink but I stumbled on the doorstep thingy. That was a great night, not.)

Exactly. I keep saying it, but I managed to go out a lot in my early 20s/late teens and get very drunk and be a bit stupid, but never run foul of the law.

If I can do it, then footballers should be able to as well, regardless of how stupid they are.

I do think the footballers have a bit of a target on their backs though, so they are a lot quicker to get arrested.

Again, anyone who is recogniseable is going to attract more attention from bouncers, the public, everybody. Fact of life. They have to suck it up and live with it.

I know I know, I'm just saying it's quite possible he was only being as dumb as the next person, but because of who is he he got arrested....I know they've got to get their acts together and pronto. They probably thought they were on their own time...now they know, the off season still counts.

The next person who runs amok get's it.

I don't want them to sack Wally though,  ffs, we need him! [eusa_doh

I think treating it as a first offence is fair enough (if it was a first offence, that is). To me, this is not nearly a sackable offence, but a fine - and a suspension had it happened during the season - should be applied. In no way is it minor, but I couldn't help comparing it to the Alahambra incident and thinking, 'Well, it could be worse...'. Maybe Cullen is on the same page there...

I thought the 10 point plan was coming in next month.

But they are bringing it forward.

Are you serious? Most bouncers wouldnt give a rats if your mates knew where you were and definetaly would not let you back in to tell them.

Yeah. I mean an ex of mine was being ejected from a nightclub for being too drunk and the bouncer wouldn't even let me go out with them. I had to go out the main exit and meet her there.

Agreed, its actually rare that bouncers would reason with you after they have told you to leave.

I can only talk of my own experiences, but I've seen it happen more often than not where the bouncer will quickly escort someone back to their mates and then walk them out.

Depends on the reaction of the patron obviously. If they're aggressive, then they're out on their arse.

They're not ALL unreasonable, and essentially it is their job to ensure the safety of the patrons. Turfing someone out when they don't have the ability to talk properly, let alone find their way home could really come back to bite them if that person ends up injured/dead. I think a lot of establishments are beginning to realise that.

That said, plenty of the buffoons simply don't care.

The tides have turned.
