Peter Wallace Injury

Ummm Clinton was on then Ning eusa_think eusa_think

You sure?

I didn't think he came on till around the 50th minute.

The ten or so minutes before and after half time is when we had no props, then Sims, Kenny and Clinton all seemed to run on at the same time.

I remember Coxy and I talking about it at the time, saying when did he come on when he went off early in the 2nd half, could be wrong not 100%

Also, bring in McGuire for Clinton

I'm thinking the opposite - give Clinton more game time. He was our best forward before he got injured, and it's almost like they don't want to acknowledge that.

Agreed. I don't see a reason for Clinton to be dropped IMO. I reckon he'd be more valuable to us at this stage than McGuire.

Definitely.

I was livid that he didn't get more game time last night. There was a stage late in the first half and early in the second half where we had no props on the field at all. Henjak really should have subbed on Clinton then IMO.

I actually like the idea of keeping a fresh prop on the bench until the 50th or 60th minute. It's provided to be a very valuable tactic in the past (most notably with Hannant in 2006, and also the 2008 Origin series). Clinton went OK last night, not outstanding by any means but I don't think he necessarily needs to be given more game time, unless someone gets injured of course.

Ah fair enough, you guys would have seen more than me since you were at the ground.

Yeah, it's not a bad plan, but we only used him for 11 minutes which IMO is a bit of a waste.

Especially when he's our highest paid forward. Talk about a waste of money.

Look I watched Joshy play out of his skin in the pre game and felt he would be champing at the bit to play in this finals series and should be given the opportunity - there are also more connections with BHunt and McCullough - Clinton certainly didn't set me world on fire so that's why I though Joshy should be given the opportunity

It doesn't matter how much we're paying him. If he can help us win a game with only 11 minutes on the field, he's earned it.

Agree with Rock, the least disruption to the rest of the side the better. I'm not sure about Hunt or PJ, they both have advantages and disadvantages.
Just a damn shame for us and Wallace as he was guiding the forwards around so well.

On a side note:

Kind of scary knowing this is what happens when a key player gets injured - huge gap between the replacements... really shows how quickly the competition can deteriorate with some very unlucky injuries. Imagine the game for a month without Hayne, Locky, Slater?...

Anyway, its going to be a HUGE ask.

Not sure how much this means, but:

Brisbane are set to punt on a teenager with just two NRL games under his belt to help exorcise the demons of last year's heartbreaking finals exit against Melbourne this Saturday night.

Youngster Ben Hunt is favoured to step in for Peter Wallace in the halfback role against the Storm after Wallace was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a broken ankle.

I doubt IH has made up his mind yet. I wouldn't be surprised if he calls PJ in and at least has a run or 2 with both players then may even leave the call up to Locky.

I agree Hunt may have a case to answer as well with the attempted trip, Fox sports in particular were going on about it .

If they do bring it up I would be pointing straight to Sowards earlier in the year which was worse but never got sited.

Hunt definately did attempt to trip but I don't think it deserves to be cited

I'd like them to go with Marsh, I think at this point of the season defense is going to be the most important thing and I think Bhunt may get found out there. With PJ we could also positionally rotate him with McCullough.

I read PJ is no longer affiliated with us anymore. Is that right or not. Shame to take Hunt out of Toyota Cup at this stage. Is there anyone up to it from one of our feeders in Qld Cup?

When would we hear about any charges from the game?
