NEWS Piehole: lol, I'm staying

I don't think any of us are prepared to point the figure at Alfie for why Milford and Croft have been so rudderless, but he's probably their overseer. Someone else might know better.
You know the joke they tell about George Best in Trainspotting II? Replace with Milf's name. The kid from Inala made it bigtime.

However, a person with a clue would go and behind closed doors discuss a graceful exit. Ala Paul Green.

that's because the Cowboys board told him he was gone.

same with the Bulldogs board with Pay.

and both of those coaches were propping up the table for a lot longer than seibs has, before they "walked"

Okay done a bit of digging, other Broncos' assistant coaches had been brought up:

Peter Gentle - brought in from Souths with Seibold, Wikipedia doesn't show much highlights on his resume
Kurt Richards - worked with Bennett and Griffin @ Broncos
Peter Ryan - consultant, former broncos player and former assistant coach for the QLD reds
Corey Parker - working with the Broncos forwards

Nothing really stands out from that pack.

If you're asking whether they have a succession coach in place like Bennett with Bellamy and Demetriou, Peter Gentle is probably it. My guess is he'll go with Pies.

Is Peter Ryan still working (contracted) with us ?

Last i heard he was doing 2 days a week with us working soley on defence.

Not in the bubble. Heard him say so.

Sorry. Quite correct. Parker.
So by that we would assume that Ryan is no longer on the scene either.

Sorry to be so persistent but i really would like to know who is in charge of our defensive coaching ? [emoji848]

No problem. I only know about Parker because I heard him on tv directly answering the question 'are you in the bubble'.

I thought I saw Ryan in the box on game day last week. Could be wrong.

Ryan was brought in the bubble to replace our previous defensive coach. He is still around. He has had about a month so far to turn around 5 years of learned, shithouse defensive “systems”, so I’m prepared to cut him some slack.

He works 2 days a week, because we only do 2 major training runs a week. They don’t need him there for conditioning days etc.

In my opinion, they need him there from day dot at our next pre-season, whoever the head coach may be. They need a new defensive system suitable for the modern game drilled into them relentlessly, because that seems to be the only way this lot can operate.

Maybe then bring him back for a few refresher sessions through-out the year if he can’t do a fulltime assistants role...

Yes the defensive structures require a whole overhaul but our technique is poor too. The top teams wrap up the ball and have 3rd to go in low and finish the tackle.

We dont seem to dominate or control tackles. That is why we often struggle against teams that off load a lot.

So there are 30 players, 1 Coach, 3 assistants, who are the other 16 people inside our bubble if they aren't bringing something to the table? Alfie takes up a spot so that's 15 left, does the front office get counted into this bubble?

Thesides Ryan, the coaching staff setup isnt much chop. Ive seen better in NSW cup. That would be putting a lot of pressure on pies.

This just popped up on my Facebook Memories. Interesting quote from the then coach.
