Player Movements and Rumours 2012

I know big Sam Kasiano is pretty close to signing a new deal at the Bulldogs, but nothing has been confirmed yet... I rate him highly.

Now that would be a good signing. Not likely but still we can dream.

I'd love either Kasiano or Taylor but both are equally unlikely.

I seriously hope Anderson gets signed by another team.

thought Anderson was pretty good in the last game, be worth keeping him around

Anderson won't get a start over Hannant and McGuire will he??

im assuming hannant gets "homesick" again lol.

if not, we still need very good another prop. mcguire + hannant is good, but when they go off......

Agree. I thought it was actually one of his best performances against the Storm. His only problem is his tendency to give away at least one cheap mistake a game, often coming out of our own half. If he can get that right out of his game he's a decent member of the 17.

Yes another good prop would be great. I think the club believe Hala and Lui can be that prop. I still think we need to make a few signing. Our depth looks bare IMO.

I just hope they don't try Thaiday at prop again. Wouldn't surprise me if Parker played up front and played less minutes to be honest, which also allows Gillett to start.

Not worried about the lack of other options in the front row. McGuire and Hannant basically make up for 3rd front rower as they can both play 60 minutes each, even more. Also, Thaiday and Parker do a bit of work up the middle too so it's not much of an issue. If our 2 starting props were average front rowers then you would be concerned, but they're not.
And if one of those two gets a season ending or long term injury what do we do?

We don't have any real depth in that area.

I'm sure we can find a stop gap option during that time. No point wasting money on a prop that will come off the bench and play for 20 minutes a game.

This. Exactly this.

Where do you think Josh McGuire came from? He got a chance. If Hannant or McGuire go down next year, someone else gets a chance. Lui and Hala haven't done too much wrong, I see no reason why they don't deserve to be the back ups after their periods of effectively apprenticing at the club. And this year learning from Civoniceva will have done a lot I'm sure.

If we are to buy, then I say wing. I hope Yow Yeh comes back, but I don't think it's guaranteed, and Copley doesn't inspire much confidence.

I don't disagree with you there. I think a good winger would be very, very handy. Is there any good wingers off-contract though?

Kasiano has just re-signed with the Dogs for 3 years.
