I'd rather not sign Tate.

what what what - tate = heart

You only have to look as far as his injury record to see why we shouldn't sign him. It just doesn't make financial sense.

Plus, i've mentioned it a few times before on BHQ, i don't even really rate him that highly anymore. His first two seasons with us were ace, but since then he's suffered a plethora of major injuries which have greatly affected the way he plays IMO. He's become far too one dimensional.

yeah Tate isnt worth the Coin now. And he wouldnt get a start if i was coach.

Don't want tate back but Price would be a great option for ONE year on a low $ contract, we need some experience in the forward pack and if he played for QLD this year he's surely good enough to go another year :)

Price would definitely help our chances of making the top 8 (which atm I'm not too positive about).

Actually even if we got him on the cheap I dunno if I would want him playing rep footy at risk of him being injured. Besides, it's time for one of Scott, Hannant and Shillington to stand up and take the starting spot.

Despite him being 36, I think he'd be a really good replacement for Clinton. Sign him for 1 yr and see how he goes after that.

As for Tate, although I liked him in a broncos jersey, i'd rather not have him considering the likes of Hodges, Izzy, Winterstein, Yow Yeh and with Kempy back now, we already have enough.

Anyone else have a read on the Warriors site? They really dont like Kemp

The Warriors fans have always been a bunch of idiots like that. If a player has a bad game, 20% will hate that player forever. Another bad game, bump it up to 50% and so on.

It's been like that since I was a youngin watching them try and play as Auckland.

I would care if Price was 40. He is the best front rower in the game besides Civo. Both of them just keep getting better. I would let Price and Civo for that matter play as long as they feel they are up to it. They are both selfless players and the moment they think it is in their best interests to hang up the boots as well.

I would also take Tate in a heartbeat. As someone mentioned above, this guy has more heart than anyone on the game.

1. Hodges
2. Winterstein
3. Tate
4. Folau
5. Yow Yee
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace

YES PLEASE

1. Kemp
2. Winter
3. Folau
4. hodges
5. Yow yeh
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
18. Tate

Thankyou

Heart doesn't compensate for talent.

[icon_lol1.

Obviously heart is a very valuable asset in any sport, let alone life.

But, just because Tate has heart in abundance, it does not make up for his lack of skill.

He was one of my favourite players when he burst onto the scene. His pace, verve and vigour made him a fantastic player. Ever since though, he's been awfully unfortunate with injuries and i think they have really affected him.

IMO, Tate is the kind of player who needs to be at his physical best to dominate, and sadly, i don't think he'll ever ascertain that level again. These days he is a shadow of the player he was circa 2002/3.

Only my opinion though. icon_smile

Remember 2006 ning - big year for Tatey

It was a good season for him, but he didn't reach the levels of 02/03.

There was a reason WB let him go.

Tate's a big game player. Always lifts for Finals, Origins and Internationals.

Hasn't he done his ACL 2 seasons in a row now? Come on guys, I love Tate but getting him back isn't worth the gamble by any means.

The Warriors yesterday quashed rumours that former captain Steve Price planned to seek an early release from the club to pursue a one-year deal with the Brisbane Broncos.

The Auckland-based club said the suggestion had "absolutely no basis".

Price's agent and the Broncos also denied the rumours.

Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah, who fielded several inquiries about Price yesterday, said he had met this week with the veteran Australian frontrower to discuss his role this season, and that he remained a "vital leader" for the Warriors next year despite losing the captaincy last month to Simon Mannering.

........

"It [an early release] has not even been discussed, nor would we be wanting to discuss it," Scurrah said.

Price's New Zealand agent, Bruce Sharrock, said he talked to his client yesterday morning, and added: "There's absolutely no truth to it."

Broncos spokesman Trad McLean said the club had not been in contact with Price, and would not be approaching him.
