Broncos won't be headhunting a new Izzy
Cashed-up Brisbane have ruled out head-hunting a replacement for pin-up boy Israel Folau when he begins his AFL odyssey next year.
Instead, they'll show faith in a rich vein of youth they believe will step up in the next 12-24 months.
Armed with one of the NRL's most impressive war-chests, it's been suggested Brisbane would circle troubled NRL club Melbourne in case the salary cap abusers release one or two of their superstars, in particular Greg Inglis or Billy Slater, to allow them to play for premiership points again in 2011.

But former Broncos forward and recently appointed general manager of football operations, Andrew Gee, said today the club would not attack the open market looking for Folau's replacement.
"The media have suggested we will hunt Greg Inglis," said Gee, pointing out NRL clubs had been warned recently against approaching any Storm player not off contract this year.
"Sure we've got some funds available now Israel is leaving but unless a top line player, a blue chip player is available, we won't be entering the player market.
"Nobody knows what's happening to any of those Melbourne players and there's a lot of blue chip players down there.
"Obviously if Inglis was to come on the market, I think there'd be 15 clubs interested, although I don't know how many of them would be in a (financial) position.
"We're concentrating on tying up all our young boys, that's always the way the Broncos have done things.
"We've brought a lot of young players through and (have) given some a good taste of first grade this year.
"We believe that core group of 10 or 11 kids in our group are going to carry us through into the future."

Coach Ivan Henjak, who's sitting on a player gold mine, wanted to retain a host of youngsters who through the NRL's Under-20 competition had attracted the attention of rival clubs.
Promising prospects like Gerard Beale, Matt Gillett, Alex Glenn, Josh Hoffman, Ben Hunt, Andrew McCullough, Jharal Yow Yeh, Corey Norman, Dale Copley, Dunamis Lui and Kurt Baptise are all part of Henjak's future plans.
"We won't go out and buy someone just for the sake of buying them or just for the sake of spending that money," Henjak said today.
"We're not going to spend it (money) because we've got it unless there's a player we believe would be a really good fit for the club."
Gee would be more than happy to hang onto the cash until it's needed.
"You hang onto it just in case a superstar comes onto the open market or you need some money to keep one of your younger players," he said.
"You're not going to spend it just because it's there.
"We've got faith in these kids and if nobody comes along we'll be happy sticking with what we've got."
