Player Movements / Rumours 2011/2012

If he does go to the Roosters, Pearce will be looking for a new club because IMO, Maloney and Cronk are both far superior players to him

If Cronk were to leave, which now looks pretty certain, I'd reckon he'd be a good fit at Souths. Reunite with Michael Maguire as coach and Inglis at fullback, plus Issac Luke is a dangerous hooker - those three would be a very good spine.

He'd know Maguire's structure and would give them direction in the halves that they've never had. I reckon he'd take them to the next level. Then again, a move to Souths is often a career killer.

I am backing Cronk is announcing he is staying, it isn't often they call a presser to say they are going that is usually just a press release. I reckon the Storm will announce he is staying (well at least I hope).

I agree.

Just about every league writer / commentator wants to tell you he is signed and sealed by the Titans. If it's true I'd love to know how they sold it to him and his manager.

You hope he stays in Melbourne? That would be the last place I want him, if that Storm trio can be broken up, the other teams will not be so much quaking in their boots anymore :P

The Storm will probably sign Foran is Cronk leaves. The Storm seem to just pull off all sorts of bull****.

So all the mail is now Cronk is staying in Melb, fair dinkum these journos know about as much as us.

"Seems he was going to the Titans", until all the debt drama hit the papers & he went cold on the idea.

Penny, yes I hope he stays because no matter what team I hate seeing clubs lose players they developed that they want to keep. The salary cap is pathetic in the lack of help it gives clubs for actually developi g their own juniors basically for the.benefit.of other clubs.

yeah, there should be no cap

This idea sounds good in theory, and would certainly help a club who develops players retain them, however I wonder what it would actually do for the comp as a whole.

I think it would certainly reduce the number of competitive teams in the comp, especially around Sydney. Maybe this isn't a bad thing though, although I think it would get boring seeing that same teams (who may have access to more juniors) continually winning.
