Player Movements / Rumours 2011/2012

Going out on his own terms ..... well done.

I dunno. There was rumours a few days ago that he wouldn't be offered a contract for next season. Maybe this forced his hand in making the decision.

That's kinda what i was implying

Better for him to come out and announce he's retiring ..... he's been a legend of the game and at least deserves to be able to announce he going the right way.

Anasta has signed with the Tigers for 2 years. Confirmed by Rugby League Week FB page.

He'll be a great buy for them. From one of the most overrated, I reckon he is close to one of the most underrated in the comp' today. A great leader and extremely consistent in his level of performance. Loves having his hand on the ball when a big play is needed and can find a way to deliver it.

I dare say he may be the missing ingredient. They would have won the comp last year with a steady hand like his.

Agreed but I would like to know where they intend on playing him. In the 6 or at 13?? Sheens still needs to go.

Edit. That's already been mentioned.

Apparently bought to replace Gareth Ellis, and Matt Johns thinks there soft this year. He'll be a handy player but hardly a first thought to stiffen your pack.

I think he'd be good at 13. He brings great ball skills and strong leadership to the team. So much of their attack is ad-libbed and unstructured; I think having a steady hand organising the forwards will help Moltzen and Marshall continue their own nonsense.

I think Anasta's a good signing for the Tigers, whether Marshall will move to 7 to accommodate him is up in the air, either way he'll be a solid addition.

I'm unsure why it matters what jersey they wear. The only thing a 7 does that a 6 doesn't is feed the scrum. But yes, Marshall's played in the 7 before so I imagine that's how it would work.

Moltzen's a nuffy.

Knowing Sheens, he'll play him on the wing.

That would then allow sheens to have a second winger on the bench

Agreed. If I was the Dragons I'd be happy that we didn't sign him - Morris wouldn't have been at 1 and he's been killing it there.

Yes Morris has been good in general play but his positional play is ordinary, I hope he keeps playing well back there and the nuffy NSW selectors think they're onto something and select him.

Thurston, Cronk and Smith will expose him bigtime.

Morris has been shining at fullback but he and Jamie shoudn't be blamed for their performance in the 1st half on Friday. They struggled to create chances behind a beaten pack. NSW fullback should by Brett Morris or Brett Stewart.

What about Hayne?
