Player Movements / Rumours 2011/2012

Good on 'em but that's a big gamble, particularly with his prior history with injuries.

Didn't he want to leave to play fullback? I don't know if Cronulla is the best place for that, particularly with Gardner around.

Gardner has has had a few injuries himself though, hasn't he? Maybe they plan on job sharing and getting a full season of fullback between them.

LOL Classic

I reckon Gordon will be the Sharks Fullback. He is simply better than Gardiner IMO.

I'd rather have both in the side than stick with 1.

Happy to be proven wrong, but based on their junior history neither are genuine fullbacks. Both are primarily wingers who can pinch hit back there if required.

IMO he's a bit of a dud signing for the Sharks if they forked out anything like what he was after. For me there are genuine concerns that he's 28 yet hasn't been on the scene that long, does not have a proven record at fullback - it's quite easy to dominate a position for a season, the real challenge is maintaining that level of performance once you've been worked out - and is coming off a knee recon'.

No thanks.

Yep, permanent part time.

I would play Gordon in the centres if he wants more ball/wants to be a non-winger. I reckon he has enough size to cope with the front line.

1. Gardner
2. Wright
3. Gordon
4. Pomeroy
5. Best
6. Carney
7. Robson (urgh)
8. Gibbs
9. De Gois
10. Ross
11. Bukuya
12. Smith
13. Gallen

14. Fifita
15. Morris
16. Graham
17. Tagataese

IMO that is a very good side which with the continued attitude and style they are going around with can really challenge for the top 4 for a few more years. A young under 20's halfback with a bit more range than Robson wouldn't hurt them.

Also Wade Graham is my top pick so far for the most improved player for the year, he has been brilliant in his transfomation into a backrower. Much like Braith Anasta he is fairly limited in his skill set so now he doesn't have to worry about kicking on the last and can primarily run which is his best asset.

Yeah agree about Wade Graham always really liked him.

It's a great pack and just a very physical team with Pomeroy in the centres. However, it is an ordinary spine that is somewhat saved from embarrassment by Todd Carney. Don't really think Michael Gordon adds that much to it.

Decent player, but risky, and some of his strengths (goalkicking) just don't help the Sharks that much (Carney's been quite radar like). With Robson and DeGois in the spine, and the centres more physical than creative, the Sharks really should have signed a player who offers more creativity, rather than someone whose strength is more finishing the opportunities that others have made.

For now they are a physical side whose discipline and power will see them coast into the finals, where they will be exposed for the creativity deficient team they really are.

Pretty much.

A little harsh on Robson. He's not much chop but so far he's been doing a good job for the Sharkies and is making Carney's job a lot easier. They do have that Chad Townsend moving forward, he could be the answer for them.

Lichaa (hooker) & Mills are too youngins to keep an eye on too. Stewie is playing injured at the moment, but for mine is just behind Gardner as their best back coming through.

Was hoping to see Wade move to the backrow at the start of the season & I'm glad the move is paying off.

I think the Sharks spine is a bit underrated. Gardner is a very talented fullback, it's just that he's prone to injury. I believe Gordon would have been in the NSW side if he didn't get injured either, and he can easily cover fullback as well. De Gois isn't a superstar or anything, but Morris is one of the best bench hookers around IMO, and having them both rotating is nice to have. Carney is clearly the best half in NSW, he just needs to stay out of trouble. Robson is pretty meh, but Townsend seems like a decent prospect.

Seems to be a rumour around that the Eels are trying to sign Michael Jennings and if they do, Justin Poore would be shipped off to Souths.

Just want the Eels need too. A lazy player with booze and discipline issues.

I see the resemblance. Robson has been surprising good for them this year. He certainly does the job, and whilst Carney is at 6 he seems to complement the way they play beautifully.

Grahams form is a product of Carney's appearance. He is a very talented individual and playing as the third playmaker has turned into a great development opportunity for him.

Michael Gordon has signed with the Sharks for 2013-2015. If he can stay fit that's a fantastic signing for them.

Rumour has it he will be released so he can play for the sharks this year. Panthers have already hit the limit on their salary cap so can't bring any new players into the squad, so releasing gordon would give them a bit of breathing room
