Player Movements / Rumours 2011/2012

All these clubs signing players yet the Broncos keep losing players and getting weaker.. Of course Jennings would be needed at Souths, are the centres they have got really much chop?? I'll be surprised if Tamou leaves the Cowboys.

Well Tamou's a passionate NSWman trapped in FNQ, he must be terribly home sick.... /sarcasm

Tony Williams is off to the Bulldogs.

Couple of things...

How are the Dogs able to afford all these players?

I rate T-Rex but did the Dogs really need to recruit another fringe running backrow? Don't they already have Pritchard? T-Rex isn't going to come cheaply and I would have thought the most logical move would be to concentrate on their rookies. Taupau, Finucane & Jackson are some of the best players not playing first grade.

Who are they going to release?

I'd also like to know that Pete. They see, to just keep buying players. I think I heard that Halatau and Stagg are off contract so they might be gone..

The Dogs team isn't really that talented or high profile compared to a lot of others, so I don't think it's outlandish to think they can afford to sign T-Rex. Particularly when you have teams like us and Manly who have so much more talent rostered next year.

As strange as this is about to sound...most of Manly's talent is home grown.

Bulldogs have been luring players with big cheques for years.

Yeah, this ^^^^

Manly and the Bronx won't be paying overs for most of their players, while the "bought not bred" club has to be paying a fair bit more to make it attractive for a player to leave his club.
There's no way T-Rex would move if Manly was offering close to the same deal as the Dogs. It wouldn't surprise me if we're talking about a significant difference of a couple of grand over the contract period. Now multiply that by the number of players they've bought...

Big news for the Dogs. Big Pete: If you referring to T-Rex as a Manly homegrown talent he was a Parra junior and is a product of Sydney's west.

I wasn't.

When I said home grown, I meant one club first graders.

Melbourne announced on Twitter that Penrith have signed Sika Manu for 3 years.

Good signing. Injuries are a concern but when on the field he's one of the better backrows in the competition.

That salary cap pressure must be a pressing thing hey Gus. My god I hate Gus, I know they are having injuries and his issue is over this year but for f#cks sake they are signing a tonne of players and will still have Lewis and probably Jennings on heavy money. They will be crap unless they sign a decent 6 or 7 or actually give Seijka a decent shot at some point.

Apparently the West Tigers are trying to get Pearce from the Roosters for next season.. They seem to have the Bulldogs type Salary cap

Ah salary cap rort speculation, always makes people look ridiculous. Why couldn't they afford Pearce? I can see about 3 players max that would be on big money at the Tigers. Maybe 4.

Ah I forgot about your love affair with the Tigers.

Seems I hit a nerve. I rest my case. Anyone would think you are a Tigers fan.

I'd really dig Pearce at the tigers, reckon it would be a sweet move for him. Although I hate the kent.

Also don't think Wests are over the cap, fairly meh players are among their top 17.

That's the only response you have to anything I say. Use your brain dickhead

Come on Rocky, mate, this is completely unnecessary. Your post is actually well thought out and provides an excellent argument regarding the issue at hand, yet you ruined it all by having to direct a personal insult at another member.

You continually say everyone on the forum needs to 'harden up', yet you can't cop a sly dig about which team you support in the NRL.

In future, please try to be a bit more respectful to other members. By all means disagree with them, but don't dish out insults - they add nothing to the discussion. :handshake:

He'd be the perfect foil for Marshall IMO. Can see that being quite a successful halves combo.
