From what I gather Wayne's mentoring relationship with Kevvie has always been solid, and he did send Reyno our way but I'm pretty sure the bitterness towards the club was genuine (and warranted). But it does also seem some bridges have been mended over the last few months, even with Ben Ikin. Good signs all round, I think.

It's not only Bennett. Other coaches like Bellamy and Sticky have supported him as well.
 
Good on Wayno for helping kev develop. Couldn't have a better mentor and whatever was said seems to have been on the mark, his coaching this year has been great for the most part. We're exciting in attack, stiff in d, team spirit has been awesome and it seems like just about everyone has improved. Couldn't ask for more from a coach.

Good exercise to go through. I can't think of many either that haven't improved.. maybe Paix? I feel he's always been solid but hasn't really hit his strides. But could be proven wrong

The underperformers were all moved on and that's probably another good sign of a good coach. Isaako, Niu, Tpj and the like.

His son has very clearly improved. Ezra has matured. Payne and Patty are offloading. Jesse has ramped up a notch. And Reece has blossomed.

The only player I can think of who hasn’t progressed (in my opinion) is Flegler, who’s kind of disappeared into the background a bit. Herbie’s blown hot and cold but I don’t think that’s new. Maybe Selwyn’s plateaued a bit but he’s fumbling less so that’s progress.

I also love how he doesn't get into the press conferences and let fly at the officials, like most of the forum would probably like him to do, it's just the easy way out I feel. Instead it looks like he looks as what the team can do better next time.
 
I wonder if there is a position at the club for Wayne in 2025 when his time at the dolphins end. It would need to be pretty well defined to not step on Kev’s toes but even head of the youth program or welfare manager of sorts.

I think Cobbo has really stepped it up a gear after he missed out on origin 2 and 3. Saw some Glimpses of aggression too which is nice.

I think he's probably earned his retirement by now. I'm sure Kevvie will still ring him for advice.

It would be hard to resent the Warriors coach picking up a gong after the pizzling they enduring during the Pandemic. We might've plumbed lower depths on the table but we did it from the luxury of our home turf. We were the spoilt brats.
