Positive drugs test

Still at least this is one positive to come out lately for the Sharks... LOL YOU CAN USE THAT ONE DUDES LOL

Yes well some will argue that you would need those two sessions of beer before looking at me.

Eat it up ladies. Eat it up.

How the **** do you accidentally punch someone in the face?

No, that happens when they invite themselves.

Are you suggesting she head butted his fist?

What i'd like to know is why the Sharks paid her $20,000 for an accident.

It must have been a pretty bad accident because she looks worse for wear in the pic.

She had a magnet in her mouth and it attracted his wedding ring which smacked her in the face. Happens all the time.

Apparently the drug he was caught with can be justified as legitimate for people suffering from Asthma, so if Matuia has Asthma he might be able to get off lightly.

I doubt it. ASADA basically has a zero tolerance policy - ie, if you take the wrong type of cold and flu tablet that contains pseudoephedrine and you get tested, you will return a positive test, leading to a ban.

Just to clear it up. ASADA has such a thing as Therupeutic Use Exemption (TUE). Which basically means that if you have a medical condition that requires you to use a medication on the banned list for treatment and there is no other medication that isn't on the banned list that can be used as an alternative for you, you can apply for an exemption from being found to have return a positive test when that particular substance shows up in your system. This requires your doctor to complete some forms as well. This must be done as soon as possible you find you have the condition and/or become a 'testable' athlete and you must have written approval from ASADA that it's OK before you will be exempt. However not all applications are approved. The ASADA Medical People will assess the applications and decide if they agree that this is the only way in which your condition can be treated. Asthma is the most common condition that comes under this process, but again not all asthma treatments will be approved - ventolin contains substanses on the banned list, however in most cases athletes who have asthma will be given a TUE for these, I am not aware of any other asthma treatments that would be approved under this process. They have also loosened the rules a little around pseudoephedrine in that you have to have a certain amount in your system before you will be found to have return a positive test - it is extremely unlike you would reach this level just by taking a headache or cold/flu tablet in a legitimate circumstance.

And yes there have been some cases where the B sample has come back negative after the A sample was positive. Not many and not any high profile athletes, but it can happen.

That's all well and good. But it's not approved for human use in Australia. So it doesn't matter what his Dr says, whoever gave it to him, broke the law too.

Oh yeah I know it wasn't approved - he wouldn't have even applied for a TUE for it. I wasn't actually speaking about this case was just clearing up Jester's post that ASADA has a complete no tolerence policy.
