That is not a fair comparison. They were playing their first game without API and Kilau amongst others. They looked lost and disorganized, and yet they went down by 1. Good effort for mine, and from now on, for mine, they remain the team to beat

We were also lucky Luke was on for a short time. As soon as he came out, their game went up a notch. He’s a bloody good hooker.

They are the back to back premiers who were at full strength when we beat them. It's absolutely a fair comparison (especially as we weren't at full strength)

We then backed it up against another top 4 team in the Cowboys. While losing a player mid match.

Although feel free to ignore both of those examples since they hurt your argument

My argument is simply that our true mettle is yet to be tested by a full strength (or thereabouts) top 4 side especially now 4 games in. Our real tests will be v Bunnies, Dogs and Manly, and I am not in any way diminishing our excellent performances, in the context I described.

It is also hard for me to forget the back end of last season. Left scars.

Is the team song available to watch anywhere?

We played down to their level. We got the job done only because of individual brilliance.

A very below par performance but the good teams find ways to win even when they aren't playing well, and we are doing that.

There's much more to our team.

late to be here but **** I loved how Staggs made the ***** know who belongs at suncorp that was soo satisfying it had me shaking lol.

tbh the game lived up the hype completely, we where full of errors but so where they due to how brutal it was, the ref went into origin mode in the second half and the game was brutal, honestly one of the best games I ever watched.

It’s not just the players but Kev got his interchanges messed up too. Patty shouldn’t have been on the field when The scored their tries.

For some reason, Kev do not want both Paty & Payne off the field at the same time. He’s making sure at least 1 of them stays on and in the process, burning them out completely. Maybe a lack of trust in other forwards?

Perhaps, things change when Kobe makes his comeback 🤷‍♂️.

Eitherway, our interchange rotation was messed up in the game.

I think our rotation was good tbh, Haas came on at the right time and so did Flegs, I think the errors and penalties made it look different though, I don't see a scenario where we don't win that game, I think the way the game rolled at the end flattered them because we had the right people out on the field at the right time, with proper space and time we would of put more on them.

Sorry but I can't agree, Dolphins where by far the hardest team we have played and the best team I have seen in the comp to play against, sure they might have some plodders in their team but they are functioning very well, that game was brutal and not like any normal league game.

Agreed - many had us tipped to start the year 1/4 . We're 4/4.

We have a long road ahead and no-one wins a trophy for being the march premiers. It does however lay a platform of confidence and belief which are powerful things to sides that have lacked them for years.

Let the boys bask in a bit of glory for now though, this place has been bitter for so long... just enjoy the feeling of not sucking for a while.

**** it was satisfying lol, many might get over focused on the errors but with how much fatigue was involved to the ref holding back the whistle in the Second half it was to be expected, that was such a great game of footy.

I honestly have to give credit to Cummins for that, referees always get a hard go but he did the right thing in this game.

Interesting tidbit from the Reece Walsh cut-out pass to Selwyn Cobbo try.

Walsh was initially set up for a sweep out the back of Reynolds, but spotted that the defensive line on the right-hand side was compressed / slow getting back onside - so he sprinted over to the right as Taupau was playing the ball.

Paix went to pass out to Reynolds, not knowing the change of plan, so Reyno had to point over to Mam to get it out there, and kudos to Paix, he quickly adjusted and got it straight out to Mam.

Great instincts from Walsh, great leadership from Reynolds, great dummy-half work from Paix.

Happy to beat those *****, but man, that was hard to watch. We are not a premiership threat or close to it.
So true. But none of the other teams in opening rounds played as if they are. The reality is, we’re top of the table and I’ll take it for now.

Now that this game is behind us, let the boys relax for couple of days and come Monday morning, blast each one as to how rubbish they’re and get them focused again.

Having the ball knocked out of his hands deliberately is hardly "dropping".

He looked for all money like he was going to easily be bundled into touch, and somehow had the strength and balance to throw off those two players and still put himself in a position to score. If it hadn't been for a freak play from the Redcliffe player, he does and we're talking about how miraculous of a try he scored.

And we're getting, 'He dropped it.'...

Let the boys bask in a bit of glory for now though, this place has been bitter for so long... just enjoy the feeling of not sucking for a while.

Some people will always be bitter, unfortunately.
