POST GAME POST GAME [Round 4, 2023] Broncos vs Dolphins

Walsh’s try saver as he bundled Nui over the sideline. His two involvements for tries either side of the field and general marshalling of our defence all night.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Haas the energiser bunny. What a machine.🫀🫀🫀🫀🫀
Staggs‘ brutal defence and then to stick the dagger in their heart right at the death was outstanding.🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪
Reyno’s pass to Capewell to expose Brenko 🥊🥊🥊
Riki’s kick chase and tireless defence (aside from the obvious lapse)🌟🌟🌟
Team spirit and resilience 🫀🫁🫀
Overall execution 🤮
Absolutely brilliant way to start the weekend.

Dont forget all you boys n girls in phinland- it’s our f**ken 🏡🏡🏡🏡

I’ve gotta say, I have some respect for The after that. They were outclassed and had a heap of injuries but they just kept coming.

They are a limited side that plays to their limited strengths. They also have a spine with a lot of upside, though losing O’Sullivan hurts, he’s been really good.

Hammer is an out and out star though. If we didn’t have Walsh, I would have been gutted we didn’t get him from the Cows, I reckon the Cows will regret that decision, he is so dynamic and you can’t coach speed.

To the phins credit they’ve played like that all year so far. A very tough team with a simple game plan. Their brand of footy is great to watch.

they will struggle once their depth is tested and it will be hard to keep playing at that level all season but it’s a great foundation to plug some stars into moving forward. Even just having Herbie instead of Brenko would make a huge difference.

They must whack hard in defence. There was a period last night where our forwards were starting to look scared of the contact. Slowing down before hitting the line, changing their run to avoid certain players.

Mate, I hear you. And yes, the boys need to understand that they must compete for the full 80. But like you said, if we start dropping blokes for the lesser efforts or straight up fck ups, we won’t have anyone take the field next week. The message should be - you fucked up, this is what you do to fix it. Go out against the Tigers, show us that you belong in a Broncos jersey.
That wasn’t a lesser effort. Carrigans was a lesser effort and he shouldn’t be dropped. Cobbo’s was an absolutely no effort, and in a team game that’s not acceptable.
People will say he’s a kid etc, but kids need discipline when they **** up so badly.

We played down to their level. We got the job done only because of individual brilliance.

A very below par performance but the good teams find ways to win even when they aren't playing well, and we are doing that.

There's much more to our team.
I thought what kevie said in the presser was sage wisdom, and i think hes all over what needs to be done.
Credit where credit is due hes no small part of us being 4-0.
Our club is in a good place right now in regards to people on and off the field.

I was just watching the highlights and I never watch Nein, who is the main commentator? He is awful to listen to.

Cooper Cronk was talking about Walsh the other day saying he needs to dial back his enthusiasm and when we need that special effort he then goes 100%

the effort from Cobbo to not put his body on the line to catch the ball is truly unforgivable. There’s no way I’m picking him next week, that was just that bad.
Carrigan’s effort to turn and chase was awful, he’s being played too many minutes if that’s the effort being put in.

almost everyone did something stupid. Herbie with a couple, Billy with multiple disgraceful efforts, and Reynolds with a complete shocker most of the night.

I guess Walsh is getting dropped too for being nowhere near the Hammer try despite it being the fifth and he didn't put in any effort to track the play.

No, they almost took the game in the 78th minute. I said earlier we’ll take the 2 points but there was no real win here.

By all means celebrate the win over a team who played close to a full half with Milford as a sole playmaker. I’ll show a bit more objectivity and call it as it is.
I think what most people are saying is where was this ‘objectivity’ when we beat the premiers and the Cowboys? Where was this objectivity talking about how much our defence has improved or Walsh’s game?

If you are only going to come around when we lose or come close to losing you are going to be met with the same response.

FMD some of you donkeys are hard to please.
Whinging on the back of a win, and only focusing on the negatives.

Like i said last night, not every game will be textbook and go smoothly, and the gritty wins, even with some errors and pressure, are just as good, (if not better) than the flawless victories where everything go's to plan!

Enjoy it!
When was the last time we went 4 - 0 and top of the table to start a season!

Pretty much, imagine if we were 0-4

When Walsh drops that bomb right at the end, why were we not penalised for being offside?

I guess Walsh is getting dropped too for being nowhere near the Hammer try despite it being the fifth and he didn't put in any effort to track the play.
Being out of position isn’t a lack of effort, it’s poor play.
Cobbo actively chose to not be involved, it was putrid.
