Our forwards got pumped, and our backs got pumped. We struggled for genuine field position all night and to make matters worse south’s we’re given easy meters all night due to our lack of defensive efforts, stupid errors or nothing penalties. But instead of rolling up their sleeves and attempting to wear down the opponents they decided to throw the ball wide early and try to create opportunities with our exciting backline, but they shit the bed and nothing came off. **** South’s

I have more tact than some who come here and attack me after winning against a team that I didn't even support. Payne was a big loss as I said pre game. Just a reminder we were without Keaon and Havilli tonight as well. I did say ypur chances would depend on how you perform against a decent team who completes high. The next few weeks are scary.

Can I also throw it out there, Herbie's ball hogging really came home to roost in the worst way tonight. He had Arthars on his outside in open space in the first half and of course he doesn't pass it until 1. He has no other choice in the matter and 2. it's already way too late for Arthars to do anything with it.

He's a textbook ball hog, and as good as he can be, it costs us way too much and will be the one thing I won't miss from him when he leaves.
He's a little bit predictable in that 9 times out of 10, he'll step off his left, stall the momentum and head back infield. Doing that is fine if it turns up on the scoreboard, but unfortunately that's rarely the case.

His style of play would kill it on the wing, even swapping places with Arthars, but I can't see that ever happening. Wasn't his night, tonight, apart from that.

Capewell is aging in dog years since his 2020 season. Looking more exhausted and run down each week.
Kurt is at his best when he's playing like a centre, same as in Origin. That said, on stats alone he pipped Riki defensively.

This hasn't been mentioned so I'll put it out there. Jock Madden is ineffective with his goal line defence. Graham was having a field day against Broncs left side defence, watch the highlight replay and focus on Madden's lack of defence. Madden reminds me of Croft and Turpin with their goal life defence, an absolute walk-over. Hate to be so harsh on the kid as its his first game but he's defence at his previous club was absolute dog shit too and that was the main reason I opposed his signing as well as Croft's signing. Dog-shit defence sinks ships.

They targetted him all night. He made 30 tackles (missed 3).

Penalty no sin bin imo should have been the result
I think it got what it deserves. Can't defend its utter stupidity especially after dropping the bomb that led to a try. He did a selfish kick not long after that he got a lucky knock on result. Herbie was awful mentally. Wasn't alone either

I think we need a bit of perspective here on Herbie. aside from his sin binning it was a fairly standard game from him. Aside from his ability to put away the winger he is very similar to Jack Reed with his reliability.

Tonight he lead the team in meters gained, tackle breaks and a close 2nd to Carrigan for post contact meters.

We need more players with his hard work ethic in the side and it sucks we are losing him next year. We’d be in a lot worse position if we had a Staggs type player on each side putting us under even more pressure by pushing passes and taking low percentage plays all too often.
