maybe it was harder maybe it wasnt but to say they are both the same just isnt true first time id seen the suaalii one tbh

Depends also on what you are looking at as well, stills or video. In real time, the Suaalii one looks worse to me and in real time Kafusi appears to attempt to reduce the impact, but once you commit to that sort of tackle you are asking for trouble, they are reckless. I've also seen stills where Kafusi's shot looks high, then you look at another angle and it just looks like he is wrapping him up and clearly shows he's nowhere near his head. You cant trust still images.

To me, they are both late hits from behind, the result on the player is still the same with him being hit when he isnt expecting it. Its dangerous. Getting hit around that kidney area isnt fun either. Should be outlawed like a shoulder to the head imo.

On paper you would think the Broncos should take this out. But we all know Wayne has the ability to get his teams to win games they simply have no right to win.

While they are undefeated they did beat a very very poor and deflated roosters team. Raiders in the wet I'll give them. And a knights team missing 7 players. Good chance they have a false sense of confidence after this.

I just want to see us get into the grind here and do what we do best. Let the forwards battle it out for a bit then look to attack. We can't be inpatient like we were against the Dragons early on.

What odds can i get for a "Wayne sscking kev is the reason Kev is the coach he is today" story?.
I would not be so quick to give them the Raiders game. They had some pretty friendly calls go their way.

In any case, I hope the Broncos put it to them and it is a fair and solid game.

Beneficial if he does play.

Bloke is a complete liability. Even without being sent to the bin last week he was doing his best to cost them the game. He is well past it.
I wouldn’t say that. I’d have him above both our second rowers. He has been very good I thought.

It just doesn’t change things for us. He isn’t a Fifita or KiKau, Someone you have to plan for. He’s just a good edge player

He was very good in R1 (as were most the team) and was okay in R2.

Last weekend he was shocking. Even admitted on the radio it was the worst game he could remember playing. Conceded 3 penalties, made 3 errors and got himself binned. Nearly all of them were in crucial moments.

Agree he will do his work defensively but isn't much of a threat with the ball.

I kind of sit somewhere in the middle with him playing. He's been in good form with some big hits but he is a hot head and it doesn't take much going wrong for him to do something so bad he cops weeks and weeks. I also think Walsh will be able to exploit him so well. Kaufusi is a great defender but if he's looking for the big hit he will get a shock with Walsh's speed, and Walsh will take advantage of that..

We should score a lot of points. We like scoring off kicks a lot this season, and I assume the Dolphins wingers will be out of position plenty of times.

Also if kicking from our half, Reynolds (who is getting better with those huge bombs) should target Isaako's side. He'll drop it a lot, especially with the great kick pressure we do.

It's interesting the differences between how the two teams leaderships are treating this fixture.

Terry Reader is talking it up like this will be the greatest rivalry in world sport. comparing it to Souths vs Roosters; Port vs Crows; Man U vs Man City.

Kevvie is the other extreme with a "lol, whatever you reckon"

Terry Reader said:

“If you look at the rivalry between the Rabbitohs and the Roosters, I think this is going to be bigger. Brisbane is the home of rugby league. The sport is king in our city.

“The difference with Sydney is that they have nine teams but in Brisbane we have only two.

“The rivalry is already at fever pitch inside 15 months and that’s because a lot of things have happened between the two clubs to add extra spice to it.”

“This is ‘Battle One’ and so it will continue for years to come. In Adelaide they have had more than 50 showdowns,” Reader said.

“With the Showdown in South Australia you have the closest link to what we have here in Brisbane with the Battle only in a different code, because you’ve got the Adelaide Crows which were a manufactured expansion side and Port Adelaide which came out of the SANFL to play in the AFL.

“We are the first BRL/QRL side to ascend into the top flight. That is lost on a lot of people.

“We didn’t just get made up 15 months ago. Our foundation and DNA is 76 years old (with the Redcliffe Dolphins) and some of the greats of the game have come through this club.”

“We have taken players from the Broncos. I have no doubt as time goes on it will happen both ways but at the moment we welcome two current Broncos (Thomas Flegler and Herbie Farnworth) next year,” Reader said.

“Don’t forget this is our home game at Suncorp Stadium. The Broncos are now co-tenants.

“It is not just their home ground. It is our home ground too. We will host the first ‘Battle for Brisbane’ and that adds even more spice to it.”

Terry Reader (on Dolphins web site):

“This is truly going to be a historic day for rugby league in Queensland,” said Dolphins’ chief executive Terry Reader.

“As our coach Wayne Bennett has said, this rivalry has the opportunity to be as big as some of the other great same-city rivalries across the world.

“The Manchester derby between Manchester United and Manchester City springs to mind.

Kevvie said:

“I guess that’s why the Dolphins were put in Brisbane, to create that rivalry, but we’re not rivals of the Dolphins - we’re the Broncos. That’s our club, that’s who we are and that’s our mindset, we are the Broncos.”

Gay.

It's funny because you can either take it as Kevvie trying to take the heat off his players "yeah nah mate it's just another game..."

...or being completely dismissive of the alleged 'threat' of The: "The who? The what? Lolphins? Pft they're not on our level, it's not a rivalry at all, this is our town and they will just go the same way as the Crushers..."

Yep. I saw the raiders game the same way.

You cant manufacture a rivalry like a Glasgow Derby or any of the big derbies from football and thats what the NRL are trying to do here. Its going to have to evolve naturally.

At the same time, you have to get the balance right in games like this. You wouldnt hear say Sir Alex Ferguson for example say a United game against Liverpool or Citeh was just another game or they arent rivals like Kevvie is doing. Its clear for as long as they play in the NRL, just like the Cowboys, they will be our rivals. You just have to balance it our with staying professional and getting up for a game thats slightly different from a normal game. As i said though, its going to have to develop over time. They cant push it.
