Really hoping the team (especially the young players) aren't sitting there thinking that we're 3 (maybe 4) starters down, 3 points clear at the top of the ladder (5 points if you include byes) and coming up against a good team so it's not a big deal if we lose or its almost expected so its ok. It's an easy mentality to have but absolutely the wrong one.

If we're contender this year we should be at the very least competitive in this game even without Haas, Mam, Oates (and maybe Riki).

I think our team list beats them almost all over the park but I’ll leave that list to @Sproj

Despite our outs, I still think we have a team that can win this and win well. Will just need to have a plan to nullify Mitchell as much as possible. Without him there isn’t much to be concerned about.

I think Kev named the best available side. Props the poster (forget who) who detailed why starting Palasia is better than bringing him on late in the game - seems Kev agrees under the current circumstances

Palasia for Haas is such a huge downgrade, this will be a tough game with the odds stacked against us, 3 outs that are all high quality players is a big blow.

We have to bring some tough resilience to this game, I think we should be in the fight still and if we play like Warriors did against Storm I wouldn't fault us.

It is a huge downgrade but let's not forget palasia ran for 160m in 15 carries replacing haas last year and played 60 minutes. He has good form in games like this. I actually rate him as a prop, he was great for us last year

Well we still have an amazing forward pack imo, Jock is a class back up and Arthars may as well basically not count since he has played since about the 40th minute of the 2nd game up until last week. We should be able to win and it will really come down to whether the boys actually think we are capable or not without them. Flegs and Pat especially will be motivated to prove they can do it without, I dare say Reece will be super motivated and let’s not forget that this is probably the biggest moment of Maddens career. If madden can’t fire alongside Reynolds when the team is firing then when will he. The motivation is there for the affected players, just need Reynolds to have another special against the bunnies and the rest to play the same role they always do and we will well and truly be in the hunt.

Not the lineup I would have went. Why is Palasia going from out of the team completely, to starting. Jensen should be starting, or Carrigan should be at 10 with Kobe at 13.

I'd say it's a "next man up" mentality and not wanting to change a player's current role. There may also be a change to lineup closer to game day.

Jensen and Flegler have been sharing the 80mins between them, but could see Jensen being first man on at 20mins for Palasia... and then Taupau or Kobe on for Flegs at 25mins (his usual sub time).

It may be that Palasia, Taupau and Kobe will share an 80mins... whilst Kobe also shares with Patty for his 55-60mins.

I think Kobe has basically been playing 20-25mins a game sharing with Patty, he can bump that up to 40mins without impacting on what Taupau is already doing and what's required of Palasia.

Making sure our bench is strong against theirs is also an important factor.

....How the **** is Palasia starting over Jensen?

I actually think he will change the line up but I can appreciate why he has done this.

Paliasia isn't as bad as everyone says on here, including myself sometime. He's just solid. But he is solid. Carrigan and flegler on with him means the 3rd person being solid won't be as obvious, especially if Walters says "25 mins, give me everything you got and you'll get this chance again to show you're a starting player (supposedly what he's going to titans for). Our bench will still hold the middle in the 10-20 mins when neither carrigan and flegler are on.
