Pre-season

Really exciting game to watch.

I raved about Walsh on here in July 2018- Michael Roberts made him captain of the Queensland U16 and it was an inspired choice. He is a great communicator and got Queensland off to a great start, they couldn't keep it going but at 16 he was captain, goal kicking and scoring tries.

Tweed in 2019 he was tremendous and really stood up once Dearden was gone, Wynnum were red hot and Tweed peaked at the right time - his two games in a row against Mackay and Souths were outstanding.

In the state final against the Steelers read the situation goes to dummy half goes the blind and scores- he's strong. Second try goes to first reciever and runs with it in two hands with Bevan outside him they waited and waited ready to tackle the forward from the short ball and Walsh forces his way over.

For Keebra Park in 2019 he came back from injury in the Alf Cup and just blitzed ISHS. He just seems to find a way to get involved which is what I like about him and he's firey too.

Australian school boys last year, his reading of the play was great, he knew when Walker was going to kick and read the situation.

Queensland U18 last year off the bench he came on and capitalized on a bit of Niu reaction and sprinted away to score.

Every game situation over the last three years shows awareness and appropriate skill at the appropriate time.

Interesting to see how he goes against men. He's pretty small but he will be the Broncos fullback in 12 months. He hasn't played since late 2019 too.

Hetherington will be good to see, at hooker. His defence is outstanding but he needs game time at hooker. Playing ISC at 6 and 13 has done him a dis-service and unfair.

Josh James is a great reward for staying in the bubble all last year to give opposition. Fantastic Queensland U18 captain in 2019. Very mature and steady at 6.

Xavier Willison- is just a massive kid, he was terrific last year in the Alf Cup. Such a physically impressive unit who understands the little things about football. Last year in the final he was told to just get a quick play the ball by Weaver and often that's not always headed by massive strong kids but he didn't fight it just got down and up and got his team forward- it was a terrific ruck play and simple- PBC scored.

Is this the opinion of the Broncos’ medical team? I’d be worried and seeking a second opinion.
Ahh true so Piakura probably has a fractured leg... although that doesnt usually stop the medicos from suggesting they can play 🤔🤔🤔

They have identified he has an issue with his leg so he won't play. Could be a broken femur as he was ran over by a truck last week but they've decided to let him run on it for a week to see how it feels before checking it further. They asked if he was iin pain, he said yes, they then asked no more questions.....

Cobbo playing first half for Wynnum and second half for Broncos so he gets a full game.

Must be a relatively smart kid.

Just imagine if they did this with Oates when he was that age, his head would quite literally have exploded trying to compute WTF was going on.

He is pretty switched on, was School Captain in 2019.

When you guys are making predictions of another spoon, are you assuming that we're going to have another horror year of injuries? It's all well and good to say our squad is weaker, but last year our best 17 could barely get on the field. Only five players managed to play more than 15 games and we went through 32 players. A heap of our starters couldn't even make half the season (TPJ 9, Fifita 9, Glenn 8, Lodge 6, Turpin 6, Bird 0).

Despite our player losses/gains, it's still likely that week to week we are going to be fielding a stronger 17 when compared to last year unless we have another cursed season injury wise.
Payne Haas helped off the field after injuring his ankle at training. Again, yes..

Ben Ikin and Matty Johns are the only two "Experts" out of the six on Fox Sports to tip us to get the Spoon. (Dragons had two tips for the spoon with Cowboys and Warriors one each)

Mal hasn't tipped the Titans for the premiership this year, lol

That would be too obvious if he did 😆
