Pre-season

I'm still going to say it's exaggerated , there's definitely a plan.
Ikin said as much as well, but it won't be executed this season. Time will tell, but on the face of it, it's a fair observation.

It is a completely fair observation, it is hard to argue most of it unless you are in denial about just how bad the club was last season. Even on the injury / omission front, from last year to this year, in round 1 there will be no Fifita, Staggs or Haas. Milford, Farnworth and Oates are coming off injuries and will be underdone in the early rounds. This does not bode well for a good start to the season. Who knows, the club may well overachieve but as it stands, Ikin has hit the nail pretty fairly on the head.

There are a few players he will know what to with like dearden, Haas etc. But the thing has a group of potentially great player being very much paid on what they might do rather than what they will. Thats pretty hard to plan around, given its a fair wack of the squad.

Every season has surprises, I don't see any with those predictions? Too much recency bias. Titans, Dogs improving..Broncos same as last year, same old top 4 more or less.. boring and wrong.

Big Failure = Roosters.. Too many head knocks
Big Riser = Cowboys.. Think they will really benefit from a new direction
Weight of expectation = Titans.. Such a strange thing to be expecting the Titans to crush it, think they may implode from that weight
Broncos = 4th to 8th, go the Broncs!

I really don’t think these so called experts appreciate or want to acknowledge just how many injuries we had last season.
Exactly. The Melbourne Storm had 13 players that managed to play for over 75% of the season. We had 5! They also had to play 3 more games yet could still keep their players on the field.

Here's what our list looked like last year. The brackets just shows how many of those appearances were from the bench, so for example, Te'o played from the bench for 10 out of his 16 appearances.

The injuries last year were horrendous.
Avg Game was 10.5 per player
34 players used
Highest capped Bench player is the 5th highest game player overall.
Halves and Hookers averaged 11.5 games each.

It’s quite shocking to see it laid out liked that and proves a point, with our most experienced forward and most experienced prop playing under 10 games and were both injured while doing so plus our main hooker and our most dynamic forward in TPJ no can team can win with such a decimation to their forward pack

Many clubs are right offs if they loose one key forward or one hooker let alone all that combined. Just by having a full team on the field and minimalising bad habits will lead to improvement alone

Not to mention that of the 6 that were able to play 75% of the season Boyd and Joffa were considered to be well below their best and Teo played over half his games from the bench (ie. Despite the injury carnage he still wasnt good enough to earn a starting gig most weeks)

Heads up: Jordan Riki (2nd row) and Issac Luke (bench hooker) are playing for the Maori All Stars this evening.

In case you've forgotten who Jordan Riki is:

Going to be very wet and slippery tonight, hopefully no injuries.

Was this just after Fifita abandoned ship?

Playing with the Ladder predictor yields some....interesting results lol I've got us in 9th after 10 rounds with a -36 differential, somehow. And the Dogs are at the bottom 0 and 10 X)
